Lara is purely fluid genius. that high bat stance and the ability of his hands to manufacture shots even when he is away from the line of the ball. Sachin had the best timing, placement and used a very heavy bat to generate momentum. Also Sachin had tremendous elbow power to carry a bat as heavy as a tennis racket. His cover drive has the same power as a backhand in tennis. Babar has the best heady body balance. Virat is the archetypical modern athlete who is as fit and lean as a football striker like CR7. His elbow power packs a punch. Saeed Anwar had malleable wrists. His cover drive was about wrist work. I found Ricky Ponting's technique to be the best. He gets behind the line of the ball. No gap between bat and pad. Least risk of getting played down or caught in the 15 yard circle. But you sacrifice on packing power into the shot. Essentially copy book Test cricket batting, old school, not very entertaining but very effective.
