Having issues with my 200e7. After getting it back together, the star drag won’t engage while tightening the handle nut. It needs to go in about a centimeter, but only can be done manually. No matter how much I tighten the handle nut. I’m stumped on why it’s not engaging. Almost positive I put it back together the proper way too. Hope you can help. Thanks

The e series are great. I like the jdm xt1500 scorpions better but thats my personal preference

I’m getting ready to upgrade bearings in my older reels. What do you think about the Speed Spool vs Boca or even other Ceramic Hybrid bearings? What about full ceramic? I know full ceramic will be even louder but do they provide any better performance compared to hybrids? I only have one of these E models and didn’t realize they only require 2 bearings. Was getting ready to look up this model’s bearing upgrade kits.

Bocas... full ceramics are a waste as they are very loud and can be really expensive.. If you need Bocas let me know as I’ve got some in stock..

@@skeeterboy77 I just bought this reel from the pawn shop for $75 bucks and it's in pristine condition. I wonder how much casting distance I would gain by upgrading the bearings.

My curado e for some reason has trouble with the drag star. When it is loose it turns fairly freely but whenever the drag star is tightened it gets significantly harder to turn and tighten down. Any idea what this could be?

One of two things, imo…either it was reassembled improperly so the drag washers aren’t behaving correctly or you might even be missing one…I believe these reels typically have two. Missing a drag washer would mess with tolerances and I can see how it might cause some issues when the drag nut is tightened down.

D’s or E’s were the best Curado’s. Like the little 50E’s
