BEST Dad watch? Citizen Promaster Diver

I just spent about two months looking for what was going to be my "daily driver" of a watch. I loved automatic movement but, honestly, I don't have time to worry about winding my watch if I don't wear it for a day--I'm doing dad things like keeping my kids alive.
So after my hunting around and consulting alot of friends, I landed on the Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver.
It's affordable, durable, looks great and you can wear it pretty much anywhere with pretty much anything. Boom. Done and done.
Lots of other great reviews out there so look around on YT and blogs but for me, it was this watch!

Cool video. Bought mine two years ago. Always use it for work as it's reliable and tough. Got mine on the bracelet which has a cool ratchet extension as well so can wear it in summer without adding extra links.

totally agree on this daddy watch, i got one myself in green and love it so much, so tough, 200m is more than enough for 99% of dads out there ;) the lume oh the godly lume, no word needed !!!

@richard harrison 1000% sure you got a defective one, there are lume tests about this watch already, it's ISO certified ! update: if you only wave your uv light over the lume for a few seconds then it's normal that it lasts only 10min, if you charge the lume with uv light (or the sun) for 30mins it will last 8 hours ! yes, 8 fcking hours !!!

For those looking for straps - the Isofrane or Borealis equivalents are in my opinion, the most perfect option for this watch. They're thick and tooly to match the aesthetic while being incredibly supple and comfortable with a ton of airflow to keep your wrist cool, with more precise adjustment that almost any other strap

I can’t decide on the automatic vs the solar. I would love the automatic, but your points are well made for the solar. The auto is quite a bit more, but dang! It’s automatic! Idk.

Go with the automatic. You do Not have to wind it. It automatically winds itself when it’s worn. It keeps on working for a couple of days if not worn. It only loses or gains a few seconds a day, so it is accurate enough. It is also used by Italian marines forces. This video exaggerates the shortcomings of the mechanical version of this model. I have owned one along with several high end timepieces, and this is my daily wearer.

Hi, great review. I have the same watch but it's the green one. I just hate the stock strap, it's not confortable and doesn't look good. Where did you get that nato strap? It makes the watch look whole different.

@@Dilshan_Kasun According to Citizen, you don't need to replace the battery. That's the beauty of the eco-drive system b/c it keeps charging and storing the energy! Maybe one day you'd need to but it's supposed to be pretty fool proof.

My wrist is about 19.5cm. It's a great watch and you can "try it on" on their site if you are interested. Pretty cool!

I wear the midsize version, EO2020-08E, due to my small wrists and just like you, I replaced the original rubber strap with a nato strap and yeah, it's really awesome 👌🏻

Leave it near a window/sun for a few hours; once it is charged see if it corrects itself.
