Does it select a wireless carrier during the setup process (Verizon, ATT, Tmo) or does it have active roaming on all 3 carriers? If it is active roaming, which is the dominate provider?

Thanks Nate, I have been thinking long and hard about turning off or at least "Putting to sleep" our DSL and landline for 6 months while away. Saves $100/mo. However, I want to keep a smart camera, and smart thermostat operational during that period. I don't think they would use much data if I only use the camera as a viewer vs. automatic trigger scan. So, here is my design for "away" wireless home network, Elsys Amplimax router, connected to a router of choice (you have a recommendation?), with a Smart camera and smart themostat. Assume for now I have a strong enough signal. I finally decided this based on your comment that the Eiot Club sim could be used in a modem (maybe you said router). Bottom line question. Could this sim be used in the Elsys Amplimax using either ATT or Verizon signals? I have both but both are weak. I need to check both signals and investigate bands used etc. Happy Holidays

I watch a lot of your videos and I’m curious if you know can I swap my T-Mobile Home Internet SIM card from my KVD21 gateway to another T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway? I’m debating purchasing one of the other brand units to see if it works better. I’m curious if there is any sort of IMEI lock preventing you to swap the sim like you can on a phone?

I think you can. I know I had to (told by tmobile) swap the sim from one unit to a new replacement unit. I think its not a full IMEI lock, rather a IMEI range for the tmobile gateways. I could be wrong but I think you can swap to another tmobile branded gateway and it will work.

I purchased the triple carrier SIM, (Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile), but when I installed in my MOFI4500 I was getting extremely slow speeds, (.56-3 Mbps). I switched to my Visible, (Verizon prepay), and received 15-32 Mbps. We have ours on our camper van so I even drove to other locations with same dismal results on the EIOTClub SIM. I really wanted it to work, but after spending several days configuring still couldn’t get results. I chatted with their support team and while friendly not very helpful. Is there a secret to making these SIM cards work at higher speeds?

Eiot is probably more focused on devices that dont demand a lot of bandwidth.

I purchased one of these EIOTCLUB SIM,s installed it in a Pepwave Router which work but when I do a speed test it connect to a Hong Cong gateway so there is crazy latency. I have reached out to their customer service with no response. UPDATE- EIOTCLUB support did respond and sent me a double play SIM (T-Mobile/AT&T) that would connect to US gateways. It does, I have good signal strength and the ping latency is still bad 358ms with 30M down and 10M up. I think for a trail or security cam that works, anything else not sure.

Verizon Prepaid data plan sim can be added to a prepaid account that has an active line on it for $30 off so paying $40 for 4 sims to support 4 not devices is a better deal than paying $40 for only 1 sim.

Actually, EOIT Club allows you to have one plan with multiple SIMs. Works great for security cameras... I have four cameras on one 36GB (1 year) plan. Ends up costing $50/year per camera. You can add up to 10 SIMs to one plan. Granted, this wouldn't work for somebody's 4G router when camping or whatever, but for trail cams or security cams, its the cheapest way I've found.
