Is the laptop sleeve suspended off the bottom - so that when you put the bag down on the floor, the laptop does not take a jar from being put on the floor directly?
@WalkWithWallace Жыл бұрын
Good question, just checked and I can confirm there's a good inch at least between the bottom of the pouch and the floor to protect a laptop.

It's a nice, comfortable and versatile looking day pack Robin and a good review. The only gripe I have about these so called 'sustainable' products is they're almost out of the reach of most folk due to cost. Nice pack but they could go further and make them accessible to more people.. Excellent review pal.. 👊
@WalkWithWallace2 жыл бұрын
Hard to disagree there Jim, there must be additional costs making these from recycled materials, but always seems to cost more if you have a conscious.

The pocket on the left shoulder strap is for the end of the mouthpiece on the hydration tube to reside in so it's not swinging around.

Excellent review, thanks! I have a question, though. How big is the laptop sleeve? Can it carry a 16" laptop?

Thank you. 😊 I can just fit in and no more my 19" laptop, so a 16" laptop should slip in nicely with room to spare.

Laptop sleeve is ideal for work clothes as it's snug it keeps them well pressed. £160 might seem steep but if you're getting years of use out of it plus a great warranty it's reasonable.

Cheers Irfan, Osprey have a decent commuter range too. Not sure which one I'd pick out as they're a vast choice: www.ospreyeurope.com/shop/gb_en/lifestyle-backpacks/active-commute If you want something a little cheaper, then Decathlon do some really cheap packs.
@IrfanOomer2 жыл бұрын
@@WalkWithWallace thanks pal. No disrespect to Decathlon but Id rather pay for the quality once so that will keep me going for years. I work in Manchester so will check out Cotswold and Ellis Brigham.

@@IrfanOomer you'll find something suitable in either of those shops mate. As I cycle, I've got a reflective Proviz rucksack, but I use the Talon Earth if I need to carry extra stuff in, like a fresh towel, big notepads etc.

I love Osprey Robin primarily for their green policy. They've been working on that for a while. This doesn't disappoint in that department. For a 22 liter it's got a few good features. Could use that off trail. Well, thanks for sharing. My last sack was Gregory I've still to do a vid on that. I think I might. All the best. Mark
@WalkWithWallace2 жыл бұрын
It's a pity its limited edition, I'd like to see the Earth range be more permanent. Maybe they're gauging interest at the moment. You should do a review, Gregory are solid packs.

Nice looking pack and I love that it's put together with recycled material. The price is one thing but how on earth is it that weight!? I'm not wanting to sound all ultralight snobbish but even the Exo 48 isn't much more in weight or price. If the laptop compartment doesn't give it away, I see this as a commuter bag. It speaks I'm an outdoor person heading for work but when I really go outdoors I use my other pack. I want one! Great review as always 👍
@WalkWithWallace2 жыл бұрын
Cheers James, there is some additional padding in there to protect said laptop, it is a well put together pack that doesn't feel flimsy. It's definitely a 2 in 1 pack as you say, in the office one day, the mountain the next. 😁

Cheers Snowy. Aye it is a bit on the steep side but I suppose everything is a bit dearer at the moment.

Good review Robin 👍 Do these recycled packs carry the Osprey lifetime warranty out of interest? That price seems pretty hefty for a 22 litre daypack, but Osprey build quality is well established I daresay.

@@WalkWithWallace Gear is one of those areas that we have very personal ideas about I guess, but so much of it does seem overpriced. Maybe getting auld and grumpy. 🤔 I buy a lot of my gear from e-Bay (and carry Pasta n Sauce, a la Kev 😁) some of which has lasted years. Might be a subject for a future video?

There is a difference between Talon 22 and Talon Earth 22. Talon 22 has more features
@WalkWithWallace5 ай бұрын
My Dad has the regular 22, I haven’t compared them. The Earth is pretty generous with features.
@InsEngineered5 ай бұрын
@@WalkWithWallace Thanks to your review, I was able to look for the difference, there is an extra pocket to just stuff jacket, slippers,etc and noticed a loop to attach hiking poles to shoulder strap and water bladder mounting location is different. However, Talon Earth is generous with features, I would prefer just Talon 22 as I prefer to stay with my hiking bag for 10 - 15 years or as long as its not repairable ;P
