Very informative video. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. It seems there are few things people don't like about the Bosch dishwashers floating around the internet. Your video addresses these and demonstrates that most of the concerns are a non issue.

Thanks for the feedback I really appriciate it. Bosch has a rebate right now but excludes most chain retailers (Lowes, Best Buy, etc) but I don't really want to buy it online. hahah

Thank you so much for putting this video together. Honestly I was told this model was as good as my old miele dishwasher that lasted for over 10 years! My main complaint like you was the condensation around my door that I still get from time to time. How is that issue for you? Also.. I never knew my racks could adjust and that was another gripe. WIth these adjustable racks it is very much like my miele yet for a bit less money. For those of you who say you cant afford such a machine, one big investment is better than many little ones. Its just all in how you look at it. While I do like this machine, i have to confess I do regret not getting another miele.

Something I don't believe you mentioned, that I have read several complaints on, was odor. Just wanted to note that I came across a technique for the hose installation that will supposedly prevent odor problems called: "dishwasher drain hose high loop". There is a video on diy network that shows how to install the high loop.

Brilliant dishwasher, I have one. The foldable racks on rhs of middle rack are for wine glasses, similar ones at the back of the bottom rack for extra tall wine glasses or champagne flutes

It is energy efficient because it does not have heated drying !! The dishes are never completely dry ! Carbon steel knives become rust spotted. Stainless steel knives do not become spotted. Every coffee mug has a lake of water staring at you when you open it after a cycle. The cycles are very long, mainly 3 hours ! The bottom rack has overly large bottom spacing and small dishes hit the rotating spray arm. I put wire across the large spacing to remedy this. The silverware basket is too small.

Sanitize option will yield better drying results. Also that cutting board he had on the bottom rack looks suspect. You can't block the condensation vent. It uses condensation - dehumidification to dry, not heated methods With Bosch, when the cycle finishes, machine will be wet inside, but dishes will be dry, with the exception of plastics. That's just the way it is

The better ones have the food chopper in the bottom, and the extra heating pipe like the Maytag. Otherwise, you have to turn your hot water temperature up on your water heater to remove the soap.

With my other dishwashers I had to pre-rinse the dishes otherwise the glasses would come out gross. However with this dishwasher you don't have to. You can leave a bowl full of batter if you want and all the dishes come out clean and shiny.

If a plastic tub is upside down and full of water most of the time the water is pretty clean. More so than the other dishwashers I have had in the past. It would be nice if Bosch could figure out a way to keep plastic containers from turning upside down. Otherwise very nice dishwasher.

Bosch, LG and Miele dishwashers do not have a heating element to dry the dishes. Silverware and plastic ware come out still wet.

the new energy and water saving regulation probably forced manufacturers to increase water pressure to "scrape" the plates clean instead of washing it off with sheer volume.

We bought our Bosch SHE55M12UC from Lowes. Our electric company gave us a rebate. Rebate or not, the machine was well worth it compared to the Whirlpool we had that royally pissed me off. Never again will I purchase a Whirlpool dishwasher. And I know all their nameplates like Renlig, Kenmore, Nutid and KitchenAid. So they can't fool me with that either.

It's funny you should ask. The solenoid in the intake started to go about a month ago, had to put ice on it to get it to work, plus the tips of the racks were worn through and rusting. So we decided to get a new dishwasher. This time we opted to go with Miele to see how it performs. We did have to pay about $800.00 more, Canadian dollars, for the Miele. They both clean dishes very well, always clean and shiny. Bosch is quieter unless you want to spend way more money for the higher end Miele models and both my wife and me like the rack setup in the Bosch better. If I was to buy another one I would probably get the Bosch SHEM78WH5N. We did have a few things go on the Bosch but we always ran it on the Heavy cycle which increases the temperature and I have a funny feeling the life of the rubber seals and the plastic parts suffered from doing so. That being said we are using just the Normal cycle on the Miele, so if it lasts longer it wouldn't really be a fair comparison. The installation instructions on the Miele suck, or should I say nonexistence, just pictures. You have to cut the plastic kickplate in order to fit, unless you have a very high counter top and have raised the dishwasher way off the ground. I used a table saw to get a nice clean cut, but most people probably don't have one. I think Miele wants you to higher an installer. All that being said, for $800.00 more I could buy a lot of parts.

Leah Julseth Well, knowing quality of today appliances, it lasted fine (6,5 years). I agree about everything you said about Miele. Even though they are brilliant, they are really overpriced. Agree about racks too. After using few brands of dishwashers, I can say Bosch has the best ones. You could make great review of new Miele too, just like the one you made with Bosch :)

Bosch is crap .i have Always miele clean s better than the Bosch.i have a friend He had a Bosch two Times is broke and his switch to miele now better than ever
