For the final episode, join me for a FULL Review of a well loved table-service restaurant - Walt's. This restaurant is located on Main Street USA in Disneyland, and serves mainly American food, inspired by some of Walt Disney's favourite dishes. Hi Sam! Perfect timing! I'm now planning a DLP trip for my 25th bday in April and thinking which restaurant to splurge at for a fancy dinner. The interior and food of Walt's seems quite nice but the price might be tricky… and that fork incident would weird me out too tbh… The restaurant review from you are honestly the best inspirations for the planning! Hi Sam, while watching your video we’ve realised that we ate at Walt’s the very same day that you did! We were sat in the same room and it’s VERY likely we were served by the same waiter. We had a very similar experience to you in that our waiter made us feel so uncomfortable and that it was a bother that we were even there. It’s such a shame as beforehand we were really looking forward to it but as you say, everyone has bad days and it looks like we both experienced that on this day. In a way knowing you also shared a similar experience brings us some comfort that it wasn’t personal to us! Thank you for all your DLP content, it has been invaluable to our recent trip! Our first for over 5 years!

Hi Sam! I love all your videos! MERCI! I noticed you said that Walt’s is not the most themed restaurant. While I haven’t yet had the chance to experience this restaurant yet, Walt’s seems like a perfectly Imagineered space, capturing the Victorian style of the lovely land of Main Street, showcasing vintage photographs of Walt Disney himself in a parlor setting from the time of his youth, creatively reflecting -through original artwork and decor - the lands that Walt envisioned for the original park, shaping the menu around some of the simple culinary taste of Walt… I can’t wait to see Walt’s in person and admire what seems to me top-notch theming, not based on Disney characters, which can of course be great too, but based on the man himself and his vision. Lucky me, I could go there last month when the price was still 42€!! I really LOVE this restaurant. The atmosphere, the food (both the taste and its presentation), the service... everything is simply great. I would go there again even with the price of 55€. Thank you so much for your report!!!

Hey Sam. Commenting here after your reply on insta. So we ate at Walt’s at Wed lunchtime. 12.15 booking with Extra Plus meal plan. Arrived about 12.10. We were asked to sit on the sofa until they were ready. 12.30 we got sent upstairs. Our waiter seemed the most miserable girl I’ve ever met. It was like she didn’t like us from the moment she stepped up and seemed to struggle to understand English. So many lost in translation moments. Drinks took about 25 minutes to turn up (and this was after she argued that we don’t get a soft drink with the meal plan) and said she would have to ask the manager. I also order the Mint Julup cocktail (that was terrible) it took about 20 minutes just to get the starters which at this point were barely warm. Chilli con carne took about another 20 mins after that, and again was barely warm. At this point, we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Once desert turned up, we just wanted the waiter to take my fast pass and sort it out. On nipping to the loo during this moment, she got stroppy with my partner because she was waiting for me to pay for the drinks. Can honestly say this was the worst experience at DLP. I’m tempted to complain as my partner was really miserable after we left the establishment.

We loved Walt’s! I had the chilli too and it was delicious. The “can” of chilli is supposed to be because Walt ate chilli from the can apparently. Fab video as always x

i dont think you percieved that situation wrongly at all. I would have found that rude/ off putting too if a server didnt offer to get another fork. I feel like its just common sense that if someone drops a piece of cutlery you'd offer to get them a new one. Its a shame you didnt have the best experience but i would say the same happened to me. We went and like you said, there was nothing wrong with the server we had but again it also felt like he didnt want to be there, which same as you, made us feel a little bit uncomfortable. Also youre absolutely smashing it with all these uploads! Hope youre taking care of yourself as well though :))

Thank you Rebecca - that makes me feel better. It happened so quickly too, I was honestly too surprised to even say something, and felt even more uncomfortable for the rest of the meal. I hope it was a one off from that cast member, and maybe they just didn't think properly and acted quickly. Sorry you didn't have the best service, either. Never tried Walt’s completely forget it even exists when I go I usually just try to do Captain jacks that’s one of the best table service restaurants in my opinion lovely food great theming

Never been to Walt's but seems standard hospitality practice to exchange a dropped fork for a new one! Especially considering it's a food hygiene & safety concern.

Great video. The fork incident was totally unacceptable. It is a shame because Walt's was always my favoruite before it closed for renovations. We were planning on having a meal here on our trip in May but may hold back.

We've been twice since August and both times had what I would call weird service. I would say we had the same server as you the first time - very disinterested. The last time was in December and the waiter bled on our table cloth and didn't acknowledge it at all! We've not had an issue with any of the other restaurants on property and considering you're paying more for Walts, not really good enough.

Another fab vlog. The new menu unfortunately doesn't appeal to me but I love that restaurant inside! I ate there during the €50 burger era and loved the 3 course meal we had, despite it taking 3 HOURS! Our server made us feel like he didn't really like us, not great! It's weird as I have enjoyed both meals I've eaten in Chez Remy but one server was amazing and the latest one couldn't be bothered with us really....it makes a big difference to the experience Also having worked in restaurants that server should not have put the fork back on your plate from the floor......that's so disgusting and unprofessional 🤢

Thanks Emily! :) Yeah, exactly as you said - service can affect the overall experience a lot, regardless of how good the meal itself is. Interesting about your experiences at Chez Remy, seems similar to my recent ones at Walt's - with one including a fantastic server, the other a very average one! I was so surprised at the fork situation. Really hoping it was a one off and the server acted so quickly, he perhaps didn't even think! I've never had that happen in any restaurant though, so it was very weird x

I loved the chili, it was delicious. But the pieces of beef were so bad, very fatty and chewy. I couldn’t eat it. They should use steak quality meat or just remove it from the plate imo. I love Walt’s but I just wish the menu was a bit more varied. I do miss the Caesar salad!
