Easily the best dive trip Ive been on! We did an afternoon dive at Palancar caves and then a night dive at Yucab soon after. Eagle Rays, turtles, green moray, octopus... absolutely stunning! I cant recommend Cozumel enough!

This looks like an incredible time. The baracuda creeps me out though. ha ha Too much Nemo I guess. I was annoyed for the turtle trying to eat and there was a fish that kept taking whatever the turtle was finding.
@VeganVoyagers3 жыл бұрын
Lol we were annoyed at her too, only because she was blocking the turtles face. Fish actually follow turtles around a lot of the time, picking up the scraps they leave from their messy eating. SO many fish got a good meal with the disaster that guy left from his meal.

Cozumel looks fun! We spent a week on Playa del Carmen but didn't make it out to Cozumel. Next time though! The coral and sponges all look so pretty. Were you scared of the eels or any other animals you saw?
@VeganVoyagers3 жыл бұрын
Not too scared really. It’s mostly about being aware of your surroundings and respecting the wildlife. There are things like stonefish that will mess you up pretty bad though.

In La Francesa, what was the turtle trying to get? I am so jealous about this, it has been years ago that I did some scuba diving for the last time in the Philippines. Is this all filmed on a GoPro? Or you use something else for underwater filming? Footage you have is really good. The wreck maybe has not the biggest and most diverse marine life, but probably it is my favourite spot from this video.
@VeganVoyagers3 жыл бұрын
the turtle was eating a sponge, so he was basically tearing it apart and eating it. We film everything on a GoPro Hero 8, glad you think the footage is good- thanks! The wreck was cool, but I think we prefer marine life, since a wreck would be the same every time you visit.

Diving seems so intimidating, but it looks like such good fun! Any tips on getting over nervousness about being underwater?
@VeganVoyagers3 жыл бұрын
We were a bit nervous at first too- in fact our first ocean dive Hayden was just not really into it. You basically have to fight every human instinct that says you shouldn't be doing what you're doing. But once you focus on all the awesome wildlife, you kind of forget that you're 100 feet under the water haha.
@grneal262 жыл бұрын
Did you use one dive shop for all of these places? Which ones do you recommend?

We dive with Cozumel Dive School whenever we go. Ask for SJ and Twan and they will take you on some incredible adventures! But the school overall is a great place to get some extra training as well if you’re looking for that.

What settings did you use for the UW videos? Did you use video lights? Our UW videos come out really grainy if pointed toward the brighter sunlight waters and very dark the deeper we go which leads to reddish colors when we edit the videos.
@VeganVoyagers3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, we use a GoPro Hero 8- no lights, no red filter. We add the color back in in post production through Final Cut Pro. We started filming in 4K though after this video was shot. So stay tuned for an upcoming video to come out in a few weeks that is all 4K underwater footage in Curacao.

When is the best time for diving, snorkeling, free diving in Cozumel. I know you said year round, but what do you think is best. I would like to go, but I’m torn, I’ve read whale sharks hang around in summer months, but that is the unpredictable rainy season too isn’t? What’s your opinion?
@VeganVoyagers3 жыл бұрын
Summer months= hurricane season (June through the end of November)... we got hit by 3 hurricanes while in the area this past season. So it's a bit of a gamble. You won't find whale sharks in Cozumel, you'll need to go up to Isla Mujeres or via Holbox, which are a bit of a trek. Otherwise it's beautiful weather. The summer months are HOT HOT HOT, so if we had to pick a good month, March would prob be the best time to go.
