Hey buddy like the motor mount💪💪. Can you share where did you get the aluminum bar? I have a cuestion on how is the water level with the motor runing? Being a small kayak?
@KayakQ4 жыл бұрын
The Aluminum bar I bought from a aluminum shop down here in Miami. The motor level (height) sits just right and I have the stabilizers that help so the weight of the motor doesn’t sink the kayak. Check out my other video to see the final set up and test run. kzbin.info/www/bejne/faLdamRtnZpojKs

Nice setup! Do you have a video of how you built the motor mount? Do you have any issues tracking straight with the side motor?
@KayakQ4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven’t really made a video explaining how I made the motor mount parts. That video is coming soon, since I’am constantly changing my set up.

Does it go straight or does it tend to push you left when you accelerate
@KayakQ4 жыл бұрын
For me for the most part the rudder and the motor go hand in hand for steering. If you place the motor on the back of the kayak you will have control with the motor. Mounted on the side where I have now I do need the rudder to help the steering. The motor would just spin me in circles as I accelerate.

How does the kayak balance with the motor?
@KayakQ4 жыл бұрын
For the most part a counter balance is needed, but I was able to use my body weight while running the motor so I wouldn’t get an over splash. Other than that it was good -no major issues for me. I would recommend a counter weight for those that need it.
@sylbean5 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for this video but how do you unconter the wheight ?
@KayakQ5 жыл бұрын
I have added a counter weight to the main bar on the left to help, but other then that the ama kit helps with the balance.

I have a buddy that has one of them Hangkai 3.5 hp. motors they sound like a peed off bumble bee if I remember right it only weights around 20 lbs.
@KayakQ5 жыл бұрын
Awesome! This motor is pretty decent if you take care of it. It weighs close to nothing compared to other motors. I hVe taken this motor a few miles offshore with no issues.
