As someone who just graduated with their bachelor's in Audiology (ear/wax doctor fun) Link got dizzy because he essentially gave himself the spins :D lol. Your ears are a big part of your vestibular system (the part of your body that keeps your balance). So, by squirting water that was either cold or hotter than room temperature into his ear he got Nystagmus (his eyes began to move in certain directions while his body remained still). I've had ear wax removed at a walk in clinic before and they use something very similar to that first one. It feels like they are pressure washing the inside of your ear. It is the most effective thing that I've personally seen.

Yeah. You can buy an ear cleaning kit at the store that has a bulb syringe. I used it on my husband when he had pain behind his ear. His dad told him to see a doctor because he probably had wax built up. We bought the kit instead. I was able to flush out a piece of hard wax from each ear that was about 1/2” long and 1/4” diameter (1.25 cm by .63 cm). His ear pain was gone after that. Not expensive, not difficult, totally worth it

I highly recommend irrigation. When I was a kid I had to get my ears cleaned because I'd lost like 70% hearing in one ear due to wax buildup. They gave me an elephant ear washer to clean my ears at home, and it was the greatest thing ever.
