Very cool review - subscribed! It appears the P1S is based on the Nextool MiniSailor Scissors, as the P1 had the exact same toolset as the MiniSailor. The P1S, however, changes things up from the MiniSailor Scissors. First you get the diamond file and metal saw edge to go with the crosscut. The MiniSailor Scissors file is two-sided: straight and cross cut. No metal saw. That's a new and welcome upgrade. And you get the opener layer instead of the tiny fold out pliers. IMO, that's more useful too.

Thanks for subscribing I'm happy you liked the videos! I love having a decent file with a metal saw, I've used the metal saw on my MTs more than I've ever used a wood saw! The P1S is a really compelling little toolset.

I believe this is my current favorite small multitool available. The great scissors and addition of the diamond file make this the most compact tool that meets all my requirements.

I have the Nextool Mini Sailor Scissors, which is essentially the same tool. I had to exchange the first sample because the scissors were very rough and would get stuck halfway open. The replacement unit was fine. I also have the Nextool Mini Flagship, which has a large pliers and a large scissors.

Thanks for the feedback! I've been lucky enough to not have a lemon with QA so far on these tools, hopefully it stays that way. Weirdly, when I was looking for the Nextool equivalent, I could only find one that had SAK style pliers as well as everything else. Looks neat but makes me wonder if this was a modified version for Olight?

@@gearedforward You're right. My Nextool Mini Sailor Scissors has the tiny pliers, which the Otacle P1S does not have. Also, the file on mine has different patterns on each side, but neither of them is a diamond file. I've bought two Nextool multi-tools and one Bibury multi-tool in the past year or so. Two of the three had to be exchanged for QC issues.

@@garyk4017 it does seem like a much bigger QA gamble for the lower price. I'm sure warranties/vendors would cover any issues, but the back and forth and returns are hassle none of us need

@@gearedforward I bought all of these multi-tools from Amazon, so exchanging them was pretty easy. Luckily the replacement tool was fine in each case.

Better at paracord as well if you don't fudge it and make sure the paracord overhangs the scissor tips.

I like this a lot but my only complaint is that there is no locking mechanism for the tools.

Nothing on it needs to lock and locks add weight, slow use, and attract muck things that mini pocket tools doing hundreds of little tasks are better without.

The Leatherman Micra has the dedicated large scissors that work fantastically. The Micra is marginally better than the Otacle P1.

I've handled a Micra but never owned one, what about it puts it ahead of the P1S for you?

@@gearedforward I have had one on my visor in the car for the past 4 years and it smoothly cuts everything from stray beard hairs, shortening straws for kids cups, fishing nets that sea turtle was trapped in, even small-medium zip ties are no problem for it either. The tweezers are legit decent and attached to the multitool so you don't loose them.
