From ICT chemical engineering is good to go and placement is also good. I myself pursuing chemical engineering and right now in the 4th year, so you can trust me. But i will say go for ECE branch if you want a core-like brach like chemical.

Absolutely right sir .. for money CS, IT, EC branches are best but I want to add one thing as you mentioned about health related issues, those woh are from above branches, in long term services (also bank jobs) they faced health related issues like physically or mentally because of it's a totally official table chair job, 10 to 5 p.m.... On the other hand those who are from core branches like civil, mech, elect they earned less money as compared to tech branch but they don't face health related issues quickly as above because their job profiles are officially as well as field work simultaneously... within job hours "bahar ghumna phirna" vi hojata hai field work me toh ... ( Less money but enjoy life every day, don't need to be Wait till Saturday / Sunday )

People have to understand that circuital branches are relatively easier and are done by many- since there is demand it is absorbing a lot of people, but chances are that demand is expected to decline significantly. A mech e or chem e can learn coding as a hobby and can get a tech job.
