You can also get it directly from Logitech, which is what I did. Logitech also has the plus model for the same price as the regular version. The plus model comes with an additional angled platform you place under the trackball to get the additional 10 degrees of tilt.

Tips: Remove metal plate, use the bottom of a Bic pen to remove the ball, HAND wash the ball with dish soap, towel dry. It will take the new ball grit and film off the ball. I do this about once a month to take the dirt off it. If you didn't knw, you can use the same method to clean the "nubs" the ball rides on, i uses the cap of said Bic pen to clean them. The ball is the same size as the Blue M570 and the Red Trackman balls, so if you want to swap it's totally doable. Regarding fit: I have a fairly big hand and this is more comfortable and I feel it fits my hand better, the weight is def a plus as it does not slide at all. There is just the one slab of rubber on the magnet and you will not have to worry about one of the rubber "feet" pods coming loose, same on the comfort wedge. If you run 2 pc's, you can pair one via unifying and one via blu-tooth and switch between at the touch of a button. Regarding battery life: While it is shorter than an alkaline, remember that you won't have to buy a battery for it, you will get the same performance just for a shorter time. That's always been the case with recharge able batteries. A user replaceable battery would have been nice but with the average number of recharges being 1000 per battery, that really isn't a factor. At a recharge every 7 days, you'd go 19 years at max performance before you'd run into an issue.

I got big hands and fingers and a Pinkie push in the small hole on the bottom will bush the ball out. Like your ears, "nothing to be inserted smaller than your elbow" Make an indentation on the ball and it will lodge into one of the three pivots that the ball slide over. So all-in-all, don't use a ballpoint pen to displace the ball, use something with a soft tip like a pencil with a rubber on the end.

Love everything except the outrageous price. Should be $65 at MOST. But they basically fixed everything wrong about the M570 or brought it into the future. I wasn't expecting the tilt function, a very nice surprise. I wish Microsoft still made trackballs, they made a damn fine trackball mouse. If they did we'd have a trackball war, innovation would be constant, and these things would be updated more often.

My M570 sometimes needs to have the ball taken out, gunk cleaned out and often an eraser on the little wheels to get the oil off so they'll be enough friction between them and the blue ball to make it work, I wonder if this mouse is easy, easier, just as easy to clean. My M570 is double clicking on occasion meaning I've had to get my mouse on it for gaming as opposed to the trackball (so am looking for a new trackball and this one might be the one).

How did I miss this product? I am a big fan of logi pointing devices and always wished there was a tilt on the wheel. I would prefer 2-3 more programmable buttons though. - one on the right for the pinkie - one plus where the new one is - one or two on the lower end of the ball.... Well, I work on 3 screens and have a load of apps open :) so moaaar buttons= better. Either way I am ordering this right now.

I have been using an M570 for eight years. My problem is with my right forefinger that has repetitive strain. It got so bad that I trained myself to use the mouse with my left hand, moving the ball with my small index finger. Took a while but it is great. Therefore, left handed people can certainly use this mouse or the new MX Ergo.

I've always used these, from the initial wired versions up until the current 570. Love 'em. I'm curious about the 'pro' distinction on the Logitech website; there's no price difference or feature set listed. But there is a different SKU!
@Johnnyrebox7 жыл бұрын
I have the M570, very interested in this. I do have one question. The current problem with the current M570 is the trackball surface easily gets dust/dirt and it slows the trackball movement. Have you removed the trackball to see the surface and see if there's a difference between this and M570? Thanks.
@kristfur7 жыл бұрын
I've had many trackballs over the last 15+ years. They will always have this issue because the main problem is the oils and dead skin cells from your fingers rub onto the ball. It's normal maintenance, every couple weeks pop out the ball and clean it. No biggie for me. One reviewer mentioned the hole to remove the ball is quite smaller than M570, you'll need a little stick handy. It does appear that the clearance between the ball and the shell is really tight, so outside dust & particles might have a harder time getting in. But as I stated before, that's not the real issue.
@aslye7 жыл бұрын
Correct, the hole to remove the ball is smaller than on the M570

In addition to that, it seems the actual socket for the ball (under the outside cover of the mouse) looks almost identical to the M570

Since this review I got an MX ERGO. It's similar to the M570, but definitely heavier, feels good in hand. Slightly better hand position than the M570. I use the ERGO at the office. The M570 is still my on-the-go trackball. The swivel base of the MX Ergo uses a heavy magnet, which makes me really nervous sitting next to my laptop's screen in my backpack. If you own a M570, wait for a price drop for the MX Ergo.

I've been years waiting for a succesor to the M570 but that rubberized finish is a deal breaker for me. I've always hated it as they tend to attract grime and dust pretty easily and with heavy use sweat tends to degrade the coating making it sticky.

How does the size compare to the M570? That's what I would love to know. I've been using Logitech trackballs since 1994, and still use my original Trackman on my pc. I have a friend who bought the M570 a few years ago and I'm always annoyed when using his computer at how small that thing is. The buttons are too narrow and too closely spaced, and the entire device feels like a toy in my hand. I really hope the new MX feels more substantial.
@welcti7 жыл бұрын
I didn't see your question before I asked mine. I have the same issue with the M570 - it's too small for my hands, and causes my fingers to cramp up a bit in extended continuous use. The MS trackball was about the perfect size, but the resolution was a bit low, and the ball didn't roll as freely. If this is an upgrade over the M570, even if it were $200, I'd probably end up buying it. Like my ergonomic mechanical keyboard, I'm using my trackball all day most days of the week, so it's worth it to get the best possible quality out of my input devices.
@politenessman39017 жыл бұрын
I've used the M570 for years (and the wired version for years before that) - the Ergo (first impressions) is slightly larger, feels nicer, but the supporting software is hopeless - you can change the speed of the cursor, but not the acceleration - which is vital when trying to cover serious amounts of screen real estate. It also doesn't seem to retain cursor speed settings using their "options" software (as of 20 Nov 17). I'd pass on it until they sort this out.
@politenessman39017 жыл бұрын

Having used it for a week it's not that great. Tilted it isn't that comfortable after a while. Why have they not created a compartment for the receiver? Why is it a lot heavier than the older model? @aslye7 жыл бұрын
The buttons? I think the overall design and build quality are much better than the M570 for sure.

Well, the microswitches actually -- the little electronic gizmos registering clicks. On the M570, they'd fuzz out after about a year, producing ghost double-clicks and randomly releasing when the button was held. Hoping this model has better switches, like older Logitech models.
@aarongerow16067 жыл бұрын

How does the size of the MX Ergo compare to the M570? I generally like the M570 - it's the best thumb trackball that has been made, at least up to this point - but have found it's a bit on the small side for my hands, and can cause my fingers to cramp up a bit after extended use.
@welcti7 жыл бұрын
To answer my own question now that I have one in hand (yes, pun intended), it does feel bigger, but it's because the curve of the top of the trackball is more pronounced. In terms of actual length, the MX Ergo and the m570 are almost identical. So your hand will be in more of a cupped position when using the MX Ergo. The front of the trackball is also raised up higher than the m570, and when in the flat position, the right side of the trackball is as well. I think this is mostly attributable to the clearance needed for the tilting mechanism.

I game on my M570, it does great at what I play. That said, I don't spend my time playing CS:GO and prefer strategy games and World of Tanks, which generally require accurate clicking and not spinning your character around instantly. The M570's input lag is unnoticeable to me (same as the even older Trackman wheel!) and by bringing the MX Ergo out, I feel like it should perform at least as well as the MX master.
@joelongjr.51147 жыл бұрын
Bottom line: MX Ergo - I do not recommend purchase of this trackball at this time. Comfort wise, it is a hit. The price is not as good as it could be in comparison with the M570. The problem is in Logitech's software. I have used a M570 for more years than I care to say, and the vital feature that were not ported from Setpoint is Pointer Acceleration. With this missing, it makes your job much harder to move across multiple screens. The MX Ergo software requires scrolling the ball endlessly to get across the screen. With acceleration, a quick sharp motion will allow the pointer to move from one side of one monitor all the way to the other side of the second monitor. I don't have the time or patience to deal with the MX Ergo with this feature missing. Another thing about pointer acceleration missing is that it requires excessive repetition of thumb motions to move the pointer across the screen. Using this trackball and associated software will set me up for repetitive motion injuries. For the time being, the MX Ergo will sit gathering dust until the software feature is added. I'll have to plug along with my old M570, and I probably should get a few to in case Logitech quits making them.

Save your money. If you have the M570 - keep it - if it is failing, buy a new one and a backup. The MX ergo is OK, but not worth the price and no better than the M570. The M570 may have a cheaper plastic feel, but there is no working advantage to the MX ergo. The last good trackball from this company was the Cordless TrackMan Optical.

Jeff, thats not a default option thats in the logitech options app, in other words any of their mice with programmable buttons can do a multi window button

The angle is still too flat. I sold my $150 Logitech MX Master for the same reason and instead bought a $15 ANKER ergonomic mouse and haven't looked back since.

The real question is, are they still using the poorly designed micro switches for the left/right buttons? I can't justify purchasing another Logitech mouse unless they have improved upon the flimsy spring-based micro switches.

Is the ball removable? If so I'm curious to know if they've replaced the little balls it used to roll on with laser instead? So reading comments the ball is removable yet you never bothered to show us removing the ball?

I had Logitech M570 for the last seven years, and this is for sure my next one. I guess when my current mouse down clicker will break. I assume in 4 years. So I have to wait :( But great job Logitech!

ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING A LOGITECH TRACKBALL, READ THIS FIRST: Ever since Logitech released their first wireless trackball, EVERY MODEL has suffered from the same problem: FAILURE OF THE LEFT-BUTTON MICRO SWITCH - usually just after the warranty expires. Logitech has been aware of this problem for years, but refuses to let go of their planned obsolescence in order to keep you buying their junk, which engineered to fail. AVOID THIS NEW MODEL AT ALL COST, unless you just like throwing money at Logitech.

hello brother. you are absolutely right and found a supporter in me. i use the m570 for around 8hours per day to game and often 10-14hours. (yes, yes, i'm pathetic) the internal clickers for the buttons are crap quality. even the scrollwheel which is another button, sometimes craps out. i hate logitech for their cheap trackballs since the trackman wheel. it was after that with the intro of the m570 that the quality dropped. even just holding looking the two, one can tell how huge the craftmanship quality is between them. logitech the scammers owe me around $700 compensation. i am on my 6th m570 in as many years - that's ironically, one per year. filthy swines. one thing that will upset you though, but i must, i will get the ergo. i despise logitech for the quality of the m570, but if you are an exclusive pc gamer who games many hours per day and only use trackballs, what other reasonable choice have you got?

Every K350 keyboard I've had eventually has blank keys after just a year. The simple printed numbers just wear off. I really like Logitech's styling. I wish their products lasted longer.

I get it that you're annoyed by the issues you've had - but where do you come up with "logitech the scammers owe me around $700 compensation"? They aren't that expensive.
@tompom35717 жыл бұрын
@zuke. it's technically for all the ones that broke simply due to low quality and not prolonged wear and tear or abuse. that's around 5 m570's at $50/each a k800 keyboard ($90) because the spacebar plastic cracked and broke due to jumping in fps games. so i have a k800 that has to be thrown because the spacebar plastic (not keys) are useless. poor and no doubt deliberate workmanship. some manufacturing companies had internal documents leaked or revealed by courts that show a deliberate policy to make things a lot worse than they are capable of just so they fail quicker and people have to rebuy. you know this. even visually (plastic type/quality even smell) their last decade products look flimsy and cheap when compared to their 90s/00's ones. those older one just feel so much stronger/better - and they are!! like i said, the ergo seems to be, again, of good solid (look/feel) quality. to me, having one, straight away i noticed it. now time will have to tell if the visual matches the internal. for me, i will have to pass judgment after at least 12 months or longer. unless my life changes drastically (hope not unless for the better) i will be "raping" the ergo. by rape i simply mean 8+ hours per day use, often 10/12 even 16 hour marathons during which time, primarily, the right button and the scroll-as-button- and left button will be used. bold comment sure, but i believe i am (will be) the most active ergo user in the world - apart from maybe logitech's internal test machines. in fact that's what i can be considered; a human ergo testing machine.

You must work for Logitech, otherwise you could never say what you do about this product, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO FAIL!!! Check out the number of instances about the failure of the button microswitches. They go on and on and on. IN SHORT, LOGITECH TRACKBALLS, WHICH USED TO BE GOOD - MANY, MANY YEARS AGO - ARE ESSENTIALLY TRASH AFTER A SHORT TIME.

I've been using them since the various wired ones, worn a number out over the years and I've never had the switches break. Loved the 570, upgraded to the MX Ergo (you have to do pointer accel in Win 10 rather than the options software, annoying) - but do recommend it.

as far as trackballs go it's mostly a step backwards from the m570, with it's shittier DPI , the stupid angle thing that WILL collapse while you are using it, and the pointless 'low dpi' button which takes it from it's massive 400 DPI and drops it to 200 - oh and the bottom rubber will peel off, it comes with a shitty scroll wheel and it costs 3 times what an M570 does. Because logitech hates you.
@PsychotropicDog5 жыл бұрын
I stand corrected, the mouse speed can be increased with 'Logitech Options' software, which will also allow reprogramming the DPI switch button. Oh and the back and forward buttons are way better than the M570.

Logitech MX ergo is garbage. Bought 2 years ago. Took good care of it. It has great ergonomics, and it's really comfortable, BUT the built quality is horrendous. After only 2 years of moderate use, the left mouse button and middle mouse button misfire all the time. Tried cleaning it, it keeps skipping clicks. It's awful. Can't even drag a window without trying multiple times. Similar problems with Logitech keyboards. I strongly recommend you stay away from Logitech products as a rule of thumb.

Okey, nice music, BUT it is nonetheless distracting. Even at low volume it is masking what you say, especially as you speak as fast as you can. Remember that many of youtube viewers, such as myself, has english as a second language. Music just makes your message harder to follow or understand and it really doesn’t add anything. I want to listen to music OR talk, never both simultaneously. I am a trackball user since 20 years... Why? Simple, my right hand started to hurt really bad using ordinary mices (after 10 years of use 1985-1995). With trackball (large ball on top type) I have never had any pain and still at the computer 10+ hours a day... I will try this new trackball out, but no thumb trackball has been as good as a large ball on top - yet.
