Everytime you disconnect the battery, you’ll have to take dash apart and redo radio settings. There should be a kit for fords with a vertical touchscreen that replaces all the HVAC controls and does them through the touchscreen

would have been easier to send his dash away and had a ipad slider put in, so he still keeps his climate control and actually is able to pop the ipad out so it's not stuck in the truck indefinitely. should be less then 700 and not mess with any stock controls, because the ipad could have been wired up to run right through the stereo. also you don't get data connection on alot of those aftermarket interfaces.

Couple things, glue probably wont hold up as others have stated. Also the radio usb output wont keep the iPad charged 9 times out of 10. It doesnt put out enough amps to charge while being used. Wire a 12v socket behind dash to power the ipad. I'm happy to put a soundman kit into the dash if you wanna get the kit and a trim bezel so you can still access the radio and remove ipad for the sketchier road trips

My guy, SoundManCA is a KZbinr that makes these kits so much more seamless and gives you the ability to take the iPad in and out. He also makes them for people too if they don't have the patience or skill to work with Bondoglass or epoxy. The glue will melt and the iPad is going to hit critical temperature especially since you are down in Florida. As a tech repair guy, I give your iPad at least 2 months before the screen fails or the battery dies due to over heating. Potential fire hazard. Go visit SoundManCA's dash mod video for his F150 and check out his website. You will learn something.

You know they have kits you can buy to turn the iPad into a radio and they come with mounts. Also comes with cords to pull up sensors. I think it just plugs into obd. Also the mounts on the radio should be adjustable. You should be able to sink the radio back.

If you have a 2011-2014 f150 and have sync u can do the same thing just buy the kit online idk the guy that sells it but it's super clean. Just connect the iPad through Bluetooth and it's mint keep all the normal steering wheel buttons too
