21:22 There is an obnoxious amount of Vala teams in my server. To counter them, I use the typical CC team with Eironn, Arden and Damian, but with Hewyn replacing Thoran and Silvina replacing Carolina. Silvina is perfect for countering Rowan to because of factional advantage.

I bait vala with Brutus, usually that gives enough time for my Odie to either wipe the enemy team or wipe the vala

The real reason dealing with Vala defenses is frustrating, especially as a f2p, is that she plays well from a surplus. I'm a f2p in champion rank running the usual Eironn CC tempo team comp, and what I've noticed is that the vast majority of people at my elo have a 50-200k surplus on me, and the few people around me with similar team strength are running either the exact same team or something very similar, indicating that such teams overperform relative to their strength. Vala defense teams are the opposite, with her being included in many of the higher strength teams at a given elo, indicating that her teams perform worse than the average meta team. The one benefit to Vala defense is that in multi-dps setups you can position her in a way that hoses certain cheese strats such as Reinier swap, which combined with the fact that she plays well into a surplus, makes her a respectable choice if you think your Vala team is stronger than the pvp teams of other people on your server with similar account investment. However, if others on your server are equally strong or even able to force the mirror match with a slight deficit, the information that Vala provides the attacker puts her at a significant disadvantage.

The vala rowan teams are the main ones i target actually. Using reinier you swap odie with rowan so the enemy team doesnt get his buffs and then gets obliterated by the odie in their backline. Its even better if you can give odie thorans link. Countering vala is pretty easy by letting her target igor, he will just jump between tombstones instead of dying. The only times this failed for me was if they used flora, or odie gets clipped by thorans ult. The team normally consists of thoran, odie, reinier, igor and a dps (cecia for me) If they dont use vala you can run rowan instead of igor, then the enemy backline gets decimated even faster. Pls correct me if i missed something :)

I would have liked to see a few more defense teams for newer servers. My server for example doesn't even have season yet and a lot of us don't have the Eironn team built/Vala built yet. I think what you did in the Best F2P Teams Early/Mid/Late game video was a really good format and a bit more of what I was expecting in this video.

One of the strats I have been using to fight the backline Lucius comp (and most double dps comps) has been running Reiner, Odie, Vala, Thoran, and a flex slot of Brutus or Rowan (for different situations) on offence. Instead of going with the attack speed relic to pull a carry to our side I use the control relic, switching Odie to the backline and pulling the tank (or a healer) to fight Reiner away from the team. Meanwhile, I have Vala linked to Thoran, allowing her massive damage to provide healing for Thoran + while granting her emergency defense in the off chance she gets clipped by an AoE attack when her exclusive equipment is up. With Rowan, Odie poisons the first enemy he teleports next to immediately and Vala can usually burst down the carry with autos + Odie's execute before the cc artifact's first usage is over, and proceed to snowball the whole fight with her EX Equipment. It also gets Odie out of the way of the stun from Eironn's ult (you just have to watch for roots from Cecia or Arden). Also with this strat you can usually set a Brutus in the backline to stall out an enemy Vala long enough so you are able to start the snowball first, but be warned Odie will not outspeed an enemy Odie to their poison without Rowan!

I'm actively looking for those teams to defeat in the arena. ^^ Just putting Vala's mark on my Supreme+ Granny or Eironn works perfectly fine. (I don't have Mythic+ Thoran yet, but I assume he and Igor work great as well.) If the enemy has Vala and Silvina, put Vala's mark on Eironn and Silvina's mark in Granny and you should be fine. :)

I go for vala teams, they are easy wins. She gets countered crazy hard. No clue why people put her on defense lol. I just use eironn, thoran, rowan, carolina and arden for my arena team. When I see a vala squad I move eironn to the front cause he still tanky af, esp with the rowan pot, take out thoran and put in brutus to take valas hits. She dies well before she can kill brutus then the whole team goes bye bye lol.

I really regret having Cecia on the wishlist. Once I got her mythic plus I replaced her immediately. But I just have no luck pulling more Carolinas… Carolina is forever stuck at Mythic.

When i volkin mentioned the vala/Lucius team i actually got goosebumps. Thats been my main team since launch😭 I hyperinvested all of them. I wouldnt say people looked down on the team, But rather underrated it.

Volkin isn’t playing the game with all the tools necessary to compete which is what makes this so interesting from my perspective. Like yeah if he had Igor he would find vala easily countered but he’s still top 25 which is insanely impressive, everyone on my server in the top 25 has 3 star mythic plus full eiron teams at least like at the bare minimum. Those are the weakest teams in the top 25 imo on my server. So this video is eye opening

Most Vala teams are easy to beat imo. Reinier+Odie teleporting a support or a tank(not Thoran) usually results in 3 insta-kills.

I normally counter any Vala I encounter with Silvina. Such an underrated hero, she jumps directly into her and kills her before the enemy vala can jump to my back lane, or do anything at all.

For Eironn against Vala teams, I usually link Thoran with Carolina, that way Carolina can soak more damage and stay on the field longer, and have Eironn tank Vala, he'll most of the time survive when Damien heals and once Vala goes to my side of the field, she just gets AOE'd by Carolina and Arden. I did the same mistake with linking Eironn and Thoran and found my Carolina dying quicker causing me to deal less overall damage and lose.

I have Hewynn s+ but not Damian m+ and I link m+ Alsa to s+ Thoran, is the difference that huge? I just get clapped hard by Vala teams and I hate them so much and that's the only team I ever see on my server so I'm desperate for tips 😭(I'm working on my Damian copies I'm so close...)

@@Szczurzyslawa yes, hewynn s+ is so good for defense, however damian m+, +5 ex is a must for eironn team offense because he heals faster and the haste buff. eironn can effectively tank vala until until damian heals and even if eironn dies, a hasted arden and carolina will decimate vala. Also damian is pretty good against renier defense teams since he cant get swapped.

@@Szczurzyslawa alsa is good too, a side grade if you dont have carolina. I put hewynn at the backmost with enlightening spell. Although I get shafted by whales since im getting in and out of top 20, it does make lower ranks hesitate to attack my defense team.

I was experimenting a lot lately and come up with a team I like a lot in offence and defense. Thoran linked with Vala, Rowan, Silvina (targeting the same hero as Vala) and Temesia. Temesia works so well in eliminating the back row of the enemy.

My favorite strat to beat Vala teams is to swap my odie next to her and then use confining spell. Odie taps her before first ult and then gets to wipe the rest of their backline. Reiner healing plus his damage usually keeps him alive long enough to win it. Only time I lose with that strat is the unlucky thoran ult wipe

You can also just swap Vala with Reinier targeting Odie/Vala (and give Odie enlightening buff). Odie will kill the Vala before she has time to ult (if your Odie is +10)

I'm really struggling with pushint through elite3 to challenger right now, because i made the mistake of having lika, Parisa and florabelle on my whishlist, instead of the meta pvp wilder team. because i followed a pve tierlsit without fully understanding the game. and now I basically have 1 extremely pontent Cecia + smokey team for PVE, and nothing for pvp specifically... and i am not sure if i should switch my whishlist now, and start investing in those wilders, or focus on vala instead, since she is mythic already.

When you’re at s+ on a character do you still pull it before you unlock paragon or can you leave that one there to focus who you’re trying to pull? (I’m pretty sure I already know the answer but as a f2p player I need someone to go ahead and confirm that my dreams are crushed 😂)

It's better to get as many s+ as possible so you can unlock paragons quicker, having 20 extra copies doesn't matter if you only have 15 s+ heroes and can't ascend to paragon yet

Vala can be countered by this: Put brutus in the back so he's targetted by her Position reinier and odie in such a way that odie swaps NEXT to vala (not WITH her) Run confining spell to delay her ult Ideally, this wipes her out before she gets her first ult, but even if she does Odie can usually finish her while she's hitting brutus' shield. It's not guaranteed to work on every defense formation, since you can't always swap next to her, but it's made vala teams mostly irrelevant in my experience. I'm top 20 in my server, usually using an offense team of thoran s+, shakir s+, odie s+, reinier m+, and either brutus legendary or koko s+ depending if they have a vala or not. If I can't reinier swap (arena 3) I use damian m+. I can consistently beat everything except scarlita comps and a few paragon eironn comps. Mauler reinier comps are extremely good on offense.

consistently in champion for almost 1 month now at PTR10. For my defense team I just run Thoran, Smokey, Odie, Cecia and Igor. Use the same team for offense. All are at supreme+ as well. Gets the job done.

I like having igor absorb vala's attacks while I send my own vala after her. and/or silvina, depending. although other tanks can be used for that, igor just seems to be specialised for it.

I have Arden linked to Thoran and Vala cannot kill him when he’s targeted. I dunno why but he survives it. Don’t use Eironn as the target.

In last battle, i would try to link odie to thoren and use rainer to switch him with lucius. With little luck he will poison both vala and cecia in backline before their ultimates

Brutus is great to counter Vala. And the best team imo is the Reinier one. Just send Oddie to the enemy side and hi'll make her dissapear before she can do anything

How different are Champion Battles vs normal arena? im currently sitting on Rank 1 normal arena server 1, waiting to be promoted. My team is Alsa Eiron Arden Lyca Reinier in offense and defense and people are losing to that pretty often

My alt was rank 1 legendary for two weeks straight, once I got promoted it dropped down to around champion 150. It kinda depends on your server and account though, my alt is very very weak and I only got that high due to being one of the most experienced/skilled arena players on my server (very far into top 20 on main). Server 365 btw

The only downside in arena is they don't remove banned players, there's like 5 strong ghosts in the top 20 of my server. Edit: oh and players farming you for 6+ a day is so bullsht

since I started using Igor, Vala is just not a unit. That Odie Reiner Smokey Thoran comp, slap a Igor vs Vala and call it a day, works everytime as long as Igor is L+ or higher
