Events are very wildcard, but IIRC there are some limited event stuff that are locked behind story content; right now, I believe that you can get a free Lucy via the "Overlord's Feast" event as well as a bunch of other stuff, but you need to have completed Ch4 for that. There's a month left for that event, but still. So while you definitely want to spend your energy, do your weekly bosses/Hollow Zero/Shiyu Defense, etc, being up to date with story can be handy. I just started about a week ago and I'm going fairly hard on story to "catch up" a bit, so I will do story stuff at the start of my day and then do the other stuff when I want a break from story. Once someone is far enough into the story though, I can see those being reversed.

you should also save some currencies in the shop so that you can get the discounted items every month

Yeah, encrypted master tapes and mts is the priority. Im using some for dennies or some chips if Im short of them.

The devs really need to stop capping the grind for resources to build your character in game with this BS energy system! They make a stupid amount of money already putting out new S ranks between new patches that complement previous S ranks to lure the whale accounts to keep spending money. Putting caps on leveling mats hurts all the community whether your a f2p or p2p because as more and more new agents are added, you are forced to decide which one you will spend a months worth of mats on and bench all the rest leaving no room for diversifying your gameplay! Please, Hoyoverse, for the love of your own games, uncap the leveling resources! Also please add more combat gameplay for endgame, I feel like once I done all the quests, the only thing left to do are the Hollows or Shiyu Defense. Maybe add some npcs that respawn new random quests in each zone daily to spice up the gameplay and give a little more poly and mats to save up for leveling. Or maybe add a new feature that allows you to have a chance to earn a older W-Engine that you needed for a agent you pulled on a while back.

They make stupid amounts of money, but they can make MORE money by selling you energy~ Even besides that, having energy be a finite resource means you have to play smart about using it, since that also makes everything you get using energy also a finite resource. While everyone will get burned at some point by this, it ultimate makes you more efficient with your time and spending. It also gives you an opportunity to touch grass or play another game.

i would also like to add Hollow Zero to this every week because you can get max of 900 Z-Merit (about 6 runs of Hollow) and you can exchange that for items, i personally just buy the limited dennies and the rest buy whatever you need

To be fair the time system thing was already in game ie sleep in bed or do a short commission to progress time. But this update really is a QOL improvement for this feature. Props to players who had to deal with this pre 1.2 to trynna get inky the cat
