I stopped hunting after finding Stila color correcting primer. I am 72 and it works well with mature skin. It is not greasy and truly leaves good surface for foundation while providing some blurring for discolorations. I have tried drugstore and high end and this beats them all. I live in Texas and this handles our terrible heat well and plays well with skin care. Worth every penney!!

But we can no longer buy the Peach Perfect primer anymore 😭 so for anyone who is interested-- even though I do not care for the L'Oreal age perfect line-- their primer is very good and almost exactly the same as the Peach Perfect one right down to the little tint and also the way it smooths texture. It's silicone heavy, thigh so not what I'm looking for wearing under the KGD foundation

One of the most informative, well-rounded primer round-up videos I've ever watched (and I'm obsessed with primers lol). I'm 50 with concerns like enlarged pores, wrinkles and firmness. My favorite primers are actually a combination of two: Farsali Skin Tune Blur for my t-zone and Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas for the rest of my face and over top the Farsali on my forehead. I also like Dior Backstage for allover, but it doesn't quite work the magic of my Farsali/Tatcha combo. I hate spending that much, but after many dollars spent experimenting, it really works for my combo/ dry skin. Furthermore, it works under ALL my foundations, from Guerlain L'Essential to Believe Beauty and all my BB creams/ tinted moisturizers.

The only primer I have ever used is Smashbox Original Photo Finish Smooth & Blur. I have sampled others at Sephora and I always go back to this one. I much prefer a clear gel feel versus a lotion. It just feels so soft and luxurious and It makes the perfect veil on my face for my foundation application. I, too have combination skin and live in the panhandle of Florida. Good for all skin types. Comes in 3 sizes. I have the 1 oz. for $37 which lasts me a very long time because I do not wear foundation everyday. A 1.7oz is $52 and a travel size 0.41oz. is $15.

Wow what a great video. You had my 2 holy grails in there. Hourglass Mineral Veil and Too Faced Hangover. I’ve spent so much on primers drugstore and high end only to give them to my granddaughter. I tried both the Too Faced Hangover and Houglass Mineral Veil in the same period. I bought the two small sample sizes from Sephora because I was tired of wasting so much money. I absolutely love them. I’m normal to oily but live in a very humid climate. I went ahead and purchased the 2 ounce Hourglass as I consider that my number one.

I consider myself a primer junkie. I love the Touch in Sol and the Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas. I also did not like the paste version. The Hourglass Mineral Veil was too finicky for me. I needed to rub it in and I thought I was then disturbing my sunscreen. My secret love, though, is the Catrice 1Minute Skin Perfector. It is a thick formula but it spreads nicely and really fills in the pores on my nose. Fabulous under powder foundation. Before I went cruelty free, my favorites were Dr. Brandt Pores No More and Benefit PoreFessional. I have no use for glowy primers and use them if I get them as gifts as highlighter on the rare times I wear highlighter. I don’t see the point of hydrating primers and would just use a light moisturizer.

I have super oily skin, and I have used several of these. I love the Hourglass Mineral Veil primer and the Too Faced both-I do have to blot my foundation or powder a few times throughout the day (Live in Nashville, TN) but for winter these are great! I use the Porefection sometimes, but again, the oil breaks through. I try to be grateful--I'm 53 and my skin is youthful, and I think it must be the oil!

Since I started following a more extensive skincare routine two years ago, I didn't need primers anymore. A good skincare makes for example a hydrating primer useless. Also, I have noticed that spf can work as a primer and almost glue the foundation on to the skin. For me, spf with mineral filters is mattifying (also alcohol containing organic filter spf). My everyday go-to spf is the Purito centella green level unscented sun spf 50+, and it has quite neutral finish. What I have tried, that spf works great under a powder foundation too! I have traditional primers from Smashbox (the white tube, and a primer water spray) but I just don't feel like using those in place of nice skincare or even after those...

The Benefit POREfessional works well for my oily/combo skin. It help to take the shine down a notch to mattify, helps my blush, bronzer, and foundations to last all day, and minimizes my pores. Everything I’m looking for in a face primer. Thanks for all the great advise/videos!

I live in the Mid West and when it becomes hot/humid I use Smashbox Photo Light..and I am always returning to the Smashbox Photofinish Pore-Minimizing Primer..I have atleast a half dozen in my drawer now. I find that anything that claims to give radiance breaks me out. I can’t pinpoint why. The Smashbox ones seem to pore fill / I believe it also line fills a touch as well. People tend to use too much. I find that after spreading a tiny bit around face, gently pressing gives me great finish. Love it even though its an og primer.
