BEST FALL VANILLA FRAGRANCES!!!

Today I want to talk about some great vanilla fragrances that I have in my perfume collection (and a few that I hope to add!) that I think are perfect for the fall season. Vanilla is one of my favortie notes in perfumes and I love these five fragrances and how they do vanilla!! There is one for every occasion 💕

I almost blind bought Babycat at the London Heathrow airport two months ago and after getting a sample of it to try, I wish I had! I ordered a sample of Cappadocia and Piano Santal after you recommended those two and can’t wait to try them!

I like Piano Santal and it was my alternative to BDK's Grs Charnel although I did just order BDK's Extrait version of Gris Charnel. I do like the idea of a cozy sandlewood for the fall/winter in New York so I will review that one soon. Piano Santal is a milky sandlewood and very pretty! Cappadocia is a favorite because I love saffron. You have to like saffron to like it. Let me know how they turn out! Its all so personal and subjective :)

I do have to wait a little bit for the weather to chill - I'm in California and it's going to be 95 degrees today - ugh. I'm looking forward to your review on BDK's Extract of Gris Charnel because the original was a like but not a love for me.

Love your straightforward and intelligent commentary! I’m in the market for a sophisticated vanilla. Would you recommend Black Tie or Babycat? Thank you!

Thank you :). Black Tie is so simple and sophisticated and I think the longevity is wonderful but its not a loud hugely projecting fragrance (and I did read people have issue with longevity so maybe its all about skin chemistry). I think Black Tie is the "safer" of the two. I really love it; its a pretty powdery vanilla. Having said that Babycat is amazing too but you have to like saffron. The saffron is a big component in this fragrance. I find this one denser and more complex than Black TIe. Saffron comes off like a leather note here (& usually does) which gives this a bit of depth and complexity vs Black Tie. Black Tie is probably more of a "classic" while Babycat is more interesting and sexy! The saffron in Babycat takes away from the vanilla so if you want mostly vanilla then go with Black TIe. Hope this helps and let me know if you sample or buy one or the other.

If you love black tie you have to test Penhaligon’s Mr Thompson! Vanille havane and babycat are in my top 5. My fave gourmand vanillas are Gioiosa and Fire at Will

I've heard others saying they find similarities between Babycat and Cappadocia. I just blind bought Cappadocia. Can't wait for it to arrive. I recently traded my bottle of MAC Velvet Teddy (a Tobacco Vanille dupe) for Memo Paris Sherwood. Excellent trade. I found the Tobacco Vanille too strong.

One definitely has to like saffron in fragrances to like Babycat or Cappadocia! I love both but as I say is a few reviews, the vanilla is more prominent in Babycat while the Cappadocia is more of a saffron "bomb" but will be a cozy one for the fall and winter :)
