Maraming magagaling na singers sa Pilipinas. Yun lang, yung iba, they chose a different career path than being a singer. But mind you, they are beasts when you get to hear them sing. I applaud people (not only Filipinos) who can sing with or without accompaniment. I also like singers who can touch people's hearts with their singing...na walang birit (belting).

If you are a Filipino and don’t scream or make birit, wala ka ng pag-asang manalo sa mga Pinoy singing contests. Filipino judges have blinders on all the time! A total turn-off to a lot of good singers bc they need to scream their hearts out to win these competitions. They go abroad and manage to win these competitions because the judges( who are not Filipinos) are not preferential to screaming/shouting during competitions. Give me a winner of such competition in the Philippines who did not scream or make birit. None! Ika nga, mga one tract mind ang mga Pinoy judges. Sad and unfortunate!

Singing naman ang usapan. Singers are artist too. They are storytellers. Songwriters and music producers are different kind of artists. We have good OPM composers: Louie Ocampo, Ogie Alcasid, Vhenee Saturno. There are young composer artists too: Zack Tabudlo, Moira, OPM Bands. PPop producers are also great. They can give Kpop groups a good run for their money. How about Bruno Mars, Her, APL d Ap? So yeah, what were you talking about?
