Best first boots! Tecovas Dillon Cowboy Boot Review

Great review! The boots look really nice but I usually prefer snip toe. My first pair of Tecovas was The Hank which is a snip toe. 🤠

Yeah that’s fair! I like snip toes as well! Just not my personal preference

I watched a lot of reviews on Tecovas before buying a pair and the general consensus is they are good boots at their price point of that $300 range and have a decent selection of leathers to choose from. I believe they are a stacked leather heel. Rose and Anvil cut a pair in half and went into detail on their construction. Chisos are around $550 for their basic leather boots. I think Chisos has the better sole construction. Lucchese are pretty expensive, definitely not an entry level boot. I have the smooth ostrich ropers like yours and the first time I wore them was on a flight where after I checked in my flight was moved to the other side of the airport so I must have walked a mile in them to get to the new gate. Then I had a layover and transferred planes in Chicago, another mile walked. They were very comfortable to walk in and wear. one of the flight attendants complimented how good they looked. They are a nice “dress boot” looking equally as good with khakis as they do with jeans. I do wish the shafts on the Tacovas were more flashy, but that’s just me. I also have a pair of the Tacovas Cartwrights, and really like them. I am keeping my eyes out for a pair of used Chisos in my size to get next. Nice review!

Thanks for checking it out! I’m Glad you enjoyed. My reference to luchesse was mostly to point out how their boots aren’t that much nicer than Tecovas despite a large jump in price. I think you buy yourself way more boot for a good chunk less by buying chisos instead based on what I’ve seen they seem to be the best middle ground between price and quality. I agree that Tecovas are more of a “dress boot”. I think for most people who just want a cowboy boot for special occasions or cowboy themed events they’ll never need more then a pair of Tecovas. For me the toes just a bit too narrow but that’s on me for sizing poorly. Have a great one, thank for checking out the video!
