Today on Surviving the First Lap, I will cover the best Force Feedback Settings for the Thrustmaster T150 wheel. This is an awesome belt driven wheel with plenty of power. These settings are focused on the best options in iRacing to get the best feedback while driving.

I played this video in July 2020 when I started iRacing and needed help setting up the wheel. I sit here today having watched this video a few hours ago. Somehow (probably me), “Minimal Force” was set to “0.2%” compared to “16%”. Two races after fixing it, I won my first-ever NASCAR Class-B Race! Thank you for your help, then and now! Happy New Year!

Why is setting the Damper & Spring to 0% in wheel properties in windows is the correct thing to do? I've been racing with the default settings (both at 100%) for the last month and it felt normal, i'll give this a try but im curious whats the reasoning to turning those off? I tried reading what those settings actually do but it didn't make much sense to me as a sim racing newbie :)

Just give the settings a try and see how it works for you. You may not prefer the settings. Keep in mind, a lot of the upper end sim drivers use zero or very little FFB.

I wish I had seen this video before. when I bought the steering wheel I literally did everything my own way. now it is practically impossible to play on it. is there any way to remove the drivers from this steering wheel and recalibrate it? Your English is fine, no apology needed. You can uninstall the drivers and software. First unplug the T150 from your PC and restart the PC. Download and run the driver software like you would to install it, except it should ask if you want to uninstall the drivers and software. Once complete, restart the PC and install the drivers and software, follow the instructions and you should be good.

Odd. Did you restart the PC after completing the install and set-up? If that does not work you can try bumping the strength setting, slightly, in iRacing until you get the feel you are looking for.

Hi mate. I have thrustmaster T150 . Today suddenly my gass paddle became clutch and clutch paddle became gass paddle. Is there anyway to change the settings? Please please advice me. Many thanks

What game did this happen in? Is it like that for all your racing games? There should be a setting to invert the throttle and clutch pedal inside the game menu or check the driver settings for the T150.

Hold your mode button for a few seconds and it should reset back to normal. It's a feature in the wheel.

That's a big question with a lot of possible answers. What car? Is every car the same way? Did you run the automatic FFC inside iRacing? Are you playing iRacing or another sim? See what I mean? I would need more information to hopefully help you out.

Uninstall the drivers and software then re-install. Ensure you do not plug in the wheel until instructed to do so on the re-install. I think you are referring to the Windows base drivers in the menu you are seeing.

You can play Heat with this wheel, yes. I definitely don't recommend it, though. Heat feels miles better with a controller, since it was designed with it in mind.

Why Min. Force at 16% ? Everybody recommend 0% for all wheel drive

Great question. There is an application that you can run to determine the minimum force required for each wheel on the market. The app sends a series of signals to the wheel via FFB in order to determine what percentage is recommended. Using that app, the T150 results in the 16% (+/- 1%) range recommended. This will vary per manufacturer and type of wheel.

Guys be carefull about setting FFB to 100% "especially for others games" it can shorten the life of your wheel quite drastically prefer a 75% wich is default value if you plan on using this wheel for long .

If you have a CSW or DD, I would agree with you completely. However, the T150 is much weaker than those type of wheels. Regardless, the recommended "in-game" settings should dial the FFB strength back to a suggested level. This is so you do not lose the dynamic performance of the FFB or have a leveling off. Keep in mind, the default setting on the T150 drivers does not mean that it will be 100% strength in-game.

@@XJSimulations Well there are lots of reports with people getting issues with their T150, from getting wicker FFB due to overheat to powersuply not being able to handle it on long term of usage . Now of course it depends on what you set in game and how you play i guess, but what you set in the driver's settings is still the limit you can't exceed . So i think we should better be carefull with that and people should be aware of theses issues . Also lately i updated my T150's firmeware and the fans are always on since . So maybe thrustmaster itself is aware of the issue and try to stop it the same way they did on the T300 this is still not a guarentee that it won't overheat and the power supply is still the same but it has a fan to handle all the time now so better be carefull .

@Dystaz I'm not aware of this issue with the TM line-up. I'm very familiar with the Fanatec issues in regard to hardware problems and the lack of customer service complaints, but not TM. I can state the T150 and the T300 never produced any type of issue with all of the abuse I gave those units.
