I could imagine myself getting into that mess with My friends hair. I don't think she was being spiteful because a lot of people with that hair texture just brush straight through from the top

I've got afro textured hair, but my niece has straight caucasian hair. when brushing my own or her texture, i start from the bottom mostly, if i start from the top and i come to a knot, i stop and gently finger detangle. i would never continue to drag downwards. i gotta be honest, i felt a bit mad watching her drag and pull that brush through your hair, like i could FEEL the BREAKAGE. i know you guys are friends, but your friend would've known better, especially since she's been natural for over a year... she would have never done that to her own hair... or let you do that to hers... look at how she eyed your brush when you first picked it up. I'm not trying to be mean, i'm being honest. as a girl with afro hair and a very mixed family.

jadenight0 I don't assume anything. I have natural hair just like her friend so I know what I'm talking about. Our hair gets tangled easier because we have tighter curls but her friend has straight hair and her hair was more tangled up and difficult to style.

Could be two things. One, she's soft headed and can't handle it being tugged. Two, her hair gets tangled the more you try to brush it. Either way, can tell they are best friends!

you just made me jealous. I can't even braid my hair back in a french braid or twist. I suck at doing hair. If and when I wear it straight. It is in a pony tail or down. When it's not straight. I wear a bun or a curly fro (once in a while) or twists that I pull back into pony tail. That is about it. I can't do anything else. I wish I knew how to style hair :(
