Internal politics, lack of sense of urgency and ofc, you have Stephen Elop to blame. IOS felt a step down on features and customization back then compared to symbian s60v3- s60v5 The company's focus is between meego and Symbian. Both look more interesting than the windows Os that microsoft forced.

symbian had so many potential.. especially the Belle update that solved symbian's terrible UI.. but apparently, they just dgaf about the fierce competition when they realized they hv no chance competing with emerging Android and iOS that already understood the game.
