I have tried alot of monitors, and one thing i found out, when it comes to freesync and gsync is that theres never a sharpness setting when theres a gsync module in the monitor. Most times when its freesync there a sharpness or form of sharpness setting. Sharpness setting is very important if you also want to use the monitors for consoles, or just want a sharper image generally.

Update: the dyac is really good for tracking. It is worth it. Some monitors may be faster like the Alienware 1080p that’s on sale but won’t have the motion clarity of this monitor

A great alternative to the LG 27GP850-B is the HP Omen 27i. It’s the same nano IPS panel but had a much better metal build quality and sleeker look.

If i only care about color accuracy and how vibrant the screens are when consuming media and gaming would you say the LG38gn950-b would be better or the Alienware one? Ive seen some conflicting reviews from some people who claim alienware has the better looking colors, while others say that the LG one does.

How about the ViewSonic ELITE XG270Q ??? It's the newer version of the ViewSonic Elite XG270QG. ViewSonic appear to have fixed all the issues of the XG270QG with the newer XG270Q - and it's cheaper. It would be cool to see a review and perhaps a comparison of the XG270Q with other top 1440 monitors on price/performance.

I've had my XG27AQM for about four months now and I tried the AW2721D they both perform similarly until you enable ELMB. Once you enable that on the ASUS its a game changer!

​@@oomegator it is not the same. The UNX has the native G Sync module. I don´t know if strobing plus G Sync active is working properly together. Some ppl say no monitor without G Sync and others, especially FPS pros, do actually say the opposite. Maybe Bijan could help a bit more here :)

They're the best headsets I've used for everything non-competitive, and I've gotten used to the poor imaging so I know how to play with them now. It's no where near as good as my Cloud II's still though, so it's not ideal for like pro level or high level ranked. I'd use something else for that if I wanted to go try hard again.

i went from a 24.5 to a 27 inch and its not a big deal. tbh the large size reminds me to sit back more cause since i went from 1080p to 1440p i find myself leaning in to look at small minor details.

I think you'll be just fine with what you have. Same refresh rate, just make sure you have the GPU to back up that monitor.

I'm no pro (tryin' get nab LEM for now) but I do want to do a good gift to myself (money not an issue), and this video comes omg so handy and timely for me! aopen (best 1080p-390hz) vs xg27aqm/aw2721d (best 1440p-240hz) - what would you suggest? I consider the 1440p category as more fit - fast enough to give me best/enough hardware (for my "csgo" targets) while also allowing me to enjoy media consumption. Sadly asus one is not available - so I may end up going for the dell one, but I didn't get the impression that the latter could be worse! thanks for the content!

I think the Dell may be less preferable because of no BFI tech on it. Also the Dell is dedicated Gsync module so would be overkill for the AMD crowd I guess. Let me know if you can't find the Asus still, I've been considering selling mine (nothing wrong with it I'm just shopping for 4k144hz to upgrade and I already have a 27" G7)
