Best Gaming Settings for LG OLED C4 / G4 / B4 Max Performance

Dynamic tone mapping should be Hgig then go back to PS5 settings and recalibrate the HDR the first two clicks until you do not see the sun at all. The third calibration all the way down to the darkest blacks. Black stabilizer should be 7 or 8 on LG to get the deep blacks. Also turn on AMD premium even though PS5 doesn't take advantage of that version of Vsync turn them both on for the AMD 🥂 Cheers

Just got a 55inch C4 and tried these settings, they're perfect, bright enough for me, but not too bright. They also use the game optimizer settings well, thanks.

Spots, essentially vivid. I play in general game optimizer on my 83 inch G4. Might be darker, but HRD pops harder, and unlike vivid, doesn't crush detail. I used to play vivid (with cool) on the C7, but not spending big money to waste it looking artificial. BUT not hating, each to their own, and as long as you are having fun.

@@LANE_MEDIA Black level 10, white level 3. I usually have sharpness higher than usual (maybe near max0 due to not having it as bright. But with it n game opotimiser, you're getting the best out of HRD. The brighter the screen (vivid), the less pop. Getting black/white levels is pretty important if you want game accuracey, but it'll be slightly different for everyone.

It does a bit but while still using game oppomiser you can adjust some settings to fix it while still optimising peak HRD from the MLA.

I recently purchased the lg g4. Picture is great and the brightness is crazy. But gaming a lot of games can look terrible due to some kind of weird motion blur/ ghosting/ stuttering happening when i turn the camera. Any idea what this could be? Im pretty sure c4 and g4 have the same settings.

G4 does not have the same settings. C4 is missing features that the G4 has such as 144hz and Dynamic Tone Mapping Mastering. I think your issue is with TruMotion both on the TV and in the in-game settings.

Im wondering if it’s worth upgrading to LG G4 from a C1? Ive had my 48 inch C1 for 3 years now and it’s still amazing and fine, no burn in, no issues. But if G4 is a whole different experience then I wouldn’t mind.

@@OledGameplays I’ll probably wait until Black Friday and see if it has any good deals, hopefully around £1000 or slightly less. The only thing I don’t like is 55 inch seems a little too big as 48 inch was the perfect size in my room.

It absolutely is. I upgraded from a C2 65 to a G4 77 and honestly the screen size upgrade really made me appreciate the power of the G4 even more. My C2 is still an amazing TV but the G Series really elevates every type of content. Anyone that has a G3 or G4 won't feel the need to upgrade for at least 5 to 7 years. It's better to buy a 77 or 83 so you don't need to feel to upgrade anytime soon (everyone will have massive TVs in the future anyway).

You want to use HGIG, I was tweaking my settings on my new LG C4 while playing Spider-Man 2, and you'll notice the sunlight through some of the clouds and some thick clouds not letting sunlight through, nice little details to look at to know what setting does what. You definitely want to play an actual PS5 (not upgraded from PS4) to utilize the HGIG, although some games like Cyberpunk 2077 have done lots of work to improve their game, so take that in mind. Also, when setting up HDR on the PS5, you're actually supposed to set it to the symbols for the first two are not visible (just one notch past hardly, and the 3rd setting all the way down.

@@JoeSmashradBasically 14 clicks down and up on the first 2 screens, and yes all the way down on the last one. I got all that from HDTVTEST on his LG C1 PS5 settings which basically work for all LG OLED models pretty much.

@@RatedRRaj I think you mean on the first two settings, go all the way down, then 14 clicks up will show the icons just barely, then go up once more to make it not visible, right? I did that after reading that you're supposed to make the images not visible, despite it saying to on PS5

@@JoeSmashrad I can’t remember the full details in terms of the ins and outs, but all I know is that on the first 2 screens to use 14 clicks. Depending on whether your screen is set to DTM or HGiG, either that will still display the sun or just barely make it visible (or invisible I think?). But what I heard is that regardless of whether you use DTM or HGiG to play games, that initial calibration HDR set up should always be done whilst set on HGiG. If you have any doubts or questions is best to watch HDTVtest’s video, its the only one I’ve pretty much used. I was thinking about getting a LG G4 although I don’t know if I’d be able to use the same settings on there.

My lg oled b4 series cause lots of shimmering/aliasing issues on metal reflective surfaces & background foliage as well as chainlink fence type patterns. I’ve tried everything to fix it, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

@@kylenagy6419nope, g4 is the best gaming tv in 2024, lg c3 c2 g4 c4 c1 g1 g2 and b series are best, out of all g4 is best c3 is third, being honest though if you want better warm then go for S95D but if you want contrast and colour go for lg g4 c3 c4 mainly g4 it has the best hdr

I had an LG C3 and it's basically the same as an LG C4. I also saw the LG G3. Unfortunately, I had to downgrade to C2 and now I'm satisfied, although my old LG OLED 55EG9A7 handled movies better.

People, give us your new weak TV, maybe it will teach the producers something. I have the impression that new TVs are made specifically for games. The new LG C3 that I gave away looked terrible under TV Sat Canal + and much worse in movies via USB. Blurry edges, lack of sharpness, washed out colors. Netflix and Amazon Prime also looked terrible. So I ask, what is this TV supposed to be used for?
