Job system is so much deeper than I first realized. I'm really digging into this game and am loving it.

The drop in resolution to get a decent frame rate on console was rough for me during the demo. I bought it on PC and 4K 120fps has the game looking pretty good. I only played a bit this morning but the combat seems interesting and getting all the jobs geared and leveled up should be a good time. I still have to go back and finish Horizon, get started in GT7, and now this game…but Oooh Elden Ring, they all must wait.

When you’re on battle settings and see jack’s gear screen just press the R1 or L1 to get your teammates gear screen.

Oh man just picked up marauder tonight before I was heading to bed… toooootally ran another near 2 hours of content just having fun learning the move set haha. Thinking on going with dragoon and marauder so far. Everything has been so great to play imo

The problem with this system at least early is you're constantly getting higher level equipment which increases your break damage much more than any of these affinity bonuses

It almost seems like early on you should just wear the best leveled stuff then min max with different affinities in post game

When the gear is about level 20 or higher it's a good time to start. But what's smart about this too, is the stat bonuses are included in the number to the right! I'll detail that in a followup when we do endgame gear

My question is this: does the affinity percentage on a piece of gear effect the amount of experience that job gets? Example: a piece of gear with 1% Dragoon and another with 14% Red Mage. Does RM get more exp?

just confirmed if you put one single 20% gear on, then 20% of the earned XP will be distributed to that class even if its not equipped. Great question thank you!

hey thanks for stopping by to check this out! Yeah I just got the PC version code today and did a short stream playing it. It's really pleasing on the eyes but still has some issues with cutscenes and shadows. I will wait till its released to see if there is a patch before making a video on it

Play story mode for a few dungeon. Then change it to hard mode for better drops. The drops should help you balance out hard mode. Good luck!

Do we know if job affinity on gear is random or is it influenced by your current job(s) equipped? I need to get some affinity bonuses but not sure if I need to have the jobs equipped for it.

It's random what the affinity is. But the percentages are based on the stage level

In case you haven’t covered it: Affinity bonus also relates to EXP bonus gains for each class. Example: 100% swordsman affinity bonus also grants you a bonus + 100% experience gain towards that class. So if you’re grinding for class levels: Focusing on the affinity bonus nodes in the class trees can grant you nearly 40% exp gain towards all classes passively. Alternatively you can quickly master a class by stacking affinity gear. Watch how quick you can get monk to level 30 with 200% affinity bonus lol

Late game it seems like Optimize is better than Affinity as far as damage delt to the enemies and their break gauge. I'm still leveling all the other jobs pretty regularly 1 Kraken 2 fight levels up 2-4 classes 1-2 times.

@@BltzZ Axe is completely broken in this game. Just continually use Starfall, an ability you gain from Berzerker, and every boss dies. I need to test if this is still the same in hard mode though. The only thing I noticed about Hard difficulty was enemies do more damage and break you easier. Well if the enemy can already break and kill you in 1 hit on story casual then what does hard actually change?

Starfall is good but I find that brutal tackle works best for me and breaks that gauge nicely

@@BltzZ I was using brutal tackle for a while until I saw how much damage starfall did. Try it on Tiamat 2 with an optimized build. 2 starfalls in total and her break gauges are annihilated. Fastest boss kill I ever had, maybe 35 seconds at most. Caught me off guard after an hour of struggling.

you have to grind for the gear you want the look of, and then you can modify it but only so much, each gear has a max of 3 perks plus it has to have the affinity you want for the bonuses(you can buff the affinity but you can't change it) PS I got to end game without wasting my low level mats and the low level mats are useless on high level gear. well its more rank dependent than level dependent. 4 star gear needs mats with a 4 icon, 5 star = 5 icon etc...

if you are trying to go from ps4 to ps5 you have to upload the save data from the demo. if you only did the demo on PS5 then booting it up should work just fine

Smithy options become more available as you complete certain side missions.

To use a crest you need to find the purple orb that has the side mission " the stabbed" in the main mission "the suffering of fools" the level is called Terra Tortura

it can be if the stats are increasing majority blue on the right side. be sure to monitor if the higher affinity one will get you more stats because it can notate that too if you are gaining a passive
