Great and informative. Is there a chart for tempered glass some where? I building a plywood tank around 300cm long 100cm deep and 80cm high. The glass panel will be supported on all 4 sides. The glass will be around around 290x75. Will it be safe to use a 12mm tempered glass?

No idea for tampered glass you will have to check with glass dealer or someone is experience building tank with tempered glass. Generally I prefer normal glass. 1. Simple in information & 2. Normal clear glass is inexpensive. For better experience I would invest xtra clear glass for front side. Also I understand since you are building around 10 feet of tank you are looking for tempered or toughened glasss which is also correct to ensure aquarium strength is strongh, therefore check with some one who has experience building tank with toughened or tempered glass. Banega but thoda weak hoga, strength badane ke liye aapko zyadda bracing lagana padega. Zyadda bracing in 4 feet acchi nhi lagti. So I would suggest go for 8mm atleast. Minimal bracing mai kaam hojayega. Strength bhi acchi rahegi & aquarium ka look bhi accha lagega.

Metal rims are for support for aquarium strength, however your dimensions is around 7 feet tank in length. I do not advise 8 mm glass for 7 feet length. My advise is minimum 12 mm glass for 7 feet length with bracing. In your case you have already made metal rimmed Aquarium & I have never built Aquarium with metal rim I use bracing for support. I would suggest check if you can place bracing support at bottom of your tank & top of your tank to increase strength of your aquarium. Rest anyone guys can comment on his situation for help who has metal rim aquarium experience…

15 inch ki height mai generally log 1-2 inch kum hi pani rakhte hai agar aapne aur 3 inch kum kar diya toh aapke tank ki water volume ki height 9 inch hogayi. Aap apne aap ko sawal karoh ki aapko 9 inch ki height water volume ke liye bas hai kya. 200 litre ki capacity ka tank aap 120 litre kardoge kya woh aapke fishes ke liye chalega ya nahi. Agar itni water Volume kum rakhoge then itni height wala tank kyu lena? Is it worth? Aap apne aap ko sawal karoh. Depend karta hai aap kaunsi fishes rakhte ho right?

Generally 8mm glass with bracing will provide better strength for above dimensions. So replacing with new aquarium will be better option, however if you want to keep same tank I will advise to reduce water capacity 4 inch less.

@@USER_SLADE yes you still need a brace. Tho some branded/comercial aquariums dont have it, but those are manufactured professionaly with tested and well engineered materials. Completely different from a DIY project so we must lean on the safer side. Your welcome, cheers.

If the above dimension are in cm then 6mm is fine, however as you said it is bend in between could be concerning. I would suggest place 1 top bracing in between of your tank for better strength.

@@AquariumPlanet yeah they are in Cm. The top brace will be like this : H ? Between front and back, in the middle. If yes, it will be ok, if I take of 80% of water (massive water change) and then apply the brace on the top (with the tank with substrate and decoration). Tks for the help

@@Ghostlulz yes you can but make sure Silicone is not spilled in water because it will be dangerous for species. Also you have to keep heavy stuff on corners once you glue brace with silicone
