If you've lost oil pressure though, won't the prop be stuck in fine-pitch no matter how you move the blue knob?

Yes, it’s which case you’d be stuck with the much steeper rate and angle of descent with nothing you could do about it. -Tom

It is always eye opening the difference it makes - question - having done this in a B36TC and a V35B - the 35 responds much like this video - the 36 less dramatic- is there an impact with a turbo engine somehow?

I think it’s more a matter of airplane weight, perhaps also affected by the CG. -Tom

Amazing video. Thanks. Question: how did you get your gear up with the throttle to idle - doesn’t it have to be at a position around 17”+ for the gear to go up?
@AmericanBonanzaSociety Жыл бұрын
The throttle interrupt to landing gear retraction was not introduced until later models. The ABS/ASF A36 is a 1981 model and does not have this feature. - Tom

The engine at idle is still producing thrust and especially with prop in course mode. For an accurate assessment the engine should be off (ie mags off and/or fuel off). See what the real rate of decent with a bonafide engine failure.

I had loss of engine oil pressure.

And I tried to stop the engine without success-decided to maintain whatever power I could with what turned out to be a thrown #4 rod.
