Thanks for the great video. So...if I get an R10 and a life time Awesome Golf subscription...do I have to pay a monthly subscription to R10 to connect with Awesome Golf? And if I do not need to have a subscription to R10 do I get all of the features necessary to have a home based golf simulator (like spin)? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Thank you for doing this as this is the analysis needed to do an apples to apples comparison with the only variable being the r10 vs professional sim. No other KZbinr has done this. It really shows how good the r10 is. Also it shows how flawed the garmin golf app is because we need to tinker with elevation to get that software accurate. It’s clearly not the unit that is off but the garmin golf app algorithm. Awesome golf has the coaching interface, ability to delete shots, and avg by club. E6 has better graphics, free, and tons of courses to play if paid But neither currently allows you to export to excel like the garmin golf app through r10analytics. My conclusion is E6 needs a coaching interface, ability to avg by club, delete shots, and export to excel. Awesome golf just needs ability to export to excel. Due to this awesome golf to me is the one for driving range and e6 for courses. The one aspect you didn’t cover was shot shape.

Good video bro, but I’m not sure if you mentioned that the True Golf Sim software is e6 so the e6 on the R10 and the True Golf sim are running off the same algorithm so e6 in this test should be more accurate using the same algorithms 😊

I don't think I mentioned that but you are right and I should have. But while they are running on the same algorithm I wonder if the data would be different because one is coming from high speed cameras, and the other is coming from radar from the R10. I was pretty impressed with the E6, but I still love Awesome Golf. What are your thoughts on E6?

@@GolfersAuthority hard to tell as the program is the same program. I think it would be really hard to compare without seeing what RAW data the algorithm is basing it off. My guess is the raw data from both units will be very similar and so the algorithms come into play and with them both running the same software I think that’s maybe where e6 is closer to the full sim numbers 😊 either way great video. Would be interesting to see this same test with a GC3

@David Maxfield Golf I was hoping you would do this where the only variable was the r10 but all your vids have a 2nd variable. Finally a Same e6 software, r10 calibrated, rct balls, same club, same hitter, etc vs a professional unit. this proves how good the r10 is now (which I think we already knew but is being confirmed). Now gc3 or gcquad running e6 vs r10 running e6 and hold everything else constant with rct balls…. That’s another ultimate test like this one.

Thanks for this demo. I just bought the R10 and an impact screen and mat so I'm looking for the best sim software. Are you using RCT balls in your demo on the R10?

It’s been a year, but you didn’t mention the elevation settings. This is a major factor for both if not all simulator apps. Wondering if that was matched or ignored with defaults?

I would love a video on how to access the data after the shots. How to view your shots. How to cull the list and take out the outliers and keep the good shots and find the averages and look at the specs. and/or how to export any data, etc... And other questions, like do you have to be on wifi to log in and collect data on both? So far, while I now have the Garmin R10 and the free E6 which is really confusing, I love my Swing Caddie SC300i for easily finding your data and using it. I can't find a way to do that with either the Garmin app nor the E6 and thus, really haven't enjoyed my experience with either app nor the Garmin product. Hm.

How is E6 Connect free? I see it being sold with two different subscription plans, basic and expanded. Am I missing something? Great video though, extremely informative!

The basic one that you can just sign up for is free. It gives you the range and a few courses. Then they give you like a $600 plan. I just use the free one, then use awesome golf paid

Thanks for vid, When it comes to money - the Awsome is just a one time payment and lifetime after that, wouldnt that be cheaper than a subscription for E6. The E6 does not work for me since I cannot come out of DEMO mood. Thanks for your attention,

How is the r10 at judging shot shape? I heard it only calculates spin, does that matter?

R10 does shot shape really well, with swing path, attack angle, launch angle, club face angle. Spin is tough at this price range, and I think R10 does the best. It tried to calculate it, but often, it uses an algorithm to give you their spin guess. Which is marked with an exclamation mark. If it does read the spin, no mark. And I think if you use the Titleist RTC balls, I heard it picks up spin very accurately.

@@HoudiniGameArtist I just put a small piece of aluminum tape on each ball then place them so the tape is facing either up or forward before hitting. The R10 then picks up the radar reflection and can count the backspin accurately which also let's it give better carry numbers. Don't spend a fortune on RCT balls.

this is crazy. if you look at what R10 measures then how can club speed or ball speed be different? also launch angle is measured so should be the same. then take a look at 5:50 and sim shows club speed 84 instead of 101 which is on 2 others yet the distance is still "ok". makes absolutely no sense... then look at another 2 driver shots and look only at club speed...
