What ISO setting would u recommend when going pass 40ft deep??
@irfanvirji53194 жыл бұрын
Thanks, great video. Why keep ev @ -1.5 ... don’t we need the sunlight because it’s dark as u go deeper?
@AvidMedia4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! GoPro tends to over expose everything so the ev @ -1.5 compensates for that

A Rule around video, one would always try and get the shutter speed double the frame rate for more smooth motion blur video. To compensate for the brightness, you can use ND filters, you get some filters that replace the gopro’s front lense. But, internally gopro might be doing the correct shutter speed already on auto, since your footage looks great!!

yes i always apply that rule when shooting whenever i shoot with my Sony a7iii but usually don't when shooting with gopro as i don't have any ND filters for it and don't usually see much difference when using different shutter speeds anyways. and thanks i appreciate it!

How about in night? Like in Kona seeing the Manta ray night snorkels?

Hi Thanks for the vid :) are you using red filters for the GOPRO underwater?
@ndkoy075 жыл бұрын
Used Red Filters in my Dives and with Go Pro Flat colors and the greens are so prominent. Have you tried using Filters? I should try your settings underwater. They look Natural and good

Do you use a super suit for your GoPro hero 7 black? I just got mine & so many people on KZbin are saying don’t risk it in the salt water, but I’m super confused because GoPro says it’s totally waterproof to a point! Loved this video super helpful!! PS I live on Oahu too on east side!
@AvidMedia5 жыл бұрын
yes i use the super suit with my gopro! and i would also advise not risking it without it. seen too many people ruin their gopro by not using the super suit in the ocean

I personally prefer shooting in 2.7k @ 60 or 120 fps. ISO min 100, and max is usually 400. Color profile always FLAT ! Colors of GoPro are wayyyy toi blown out and horrible to edit in post. With flat, the camera captures the most color information and you have way more room to edit in post.. I think the linear fov gives a more natural and pleasing look, less distortion and more “pro” look. Always use lights, filters take out too much light.

are you using this settings just for snorkeling or are they also good for scubadiving at 100ft/30mt?
@Utilisateurpasvalide4 жыл бұрын
@@theflyingscubadiver Pretty much the same, might adjust a bit iso depending on depth and general day light. I always use my kraken 2500 lumens when I dive, soon I’ll had another one on my setup. As of my experience, light is the key, controlling spikes (both in brightness and darkness) is essential to avoid loss of information and it lets you a bit more room when editing. Same with flat profile, a bit more work, but a lot more control on your image.
