Wow, I can't believe you can freeze and share without having the plugin. HUGE TIP.

An excellent summary and a super useful reference. A video like this takes a lot more hard work and research than meets the eye, so many thanks for putting this together.

Oh God, I did the same thing from 2013-2018 and had every song in one folder before I learned that. Trying to open up old project became a night mare of missing samples after getting my computer worked on and swapping part and drives and managing it all. Keep files self contained is the way to go. Something I wish I knew when I started. I want to pimp my old tracks, but finding them and all their parts is a challenge as I didn't collect all and save back then. Glad you have this video. So essential.

Along the same theme, I'd recommend rendering stems out for every song you complete. This is convenient to send to remixers but also nice to have a copy for yourself incase you lose samples or have trouble installing the right vsts in the future.

Sir, you look absolutely majestic with that stache. Very useful video, also when you are lazy to explain to friend how it's done properly

The organization tips on this video helped me spend more time on creating and less time on scrolling-n-clicking. Thanks Slynk!

I'd suggest adding a # (hashtag) before the channel name. This will number the channels correctly and makes it easier for re-routing stuff and such, as you will only need to remember a number rather than "my cool sound no 56"

I love your Ableton tutorials. I would pay for a whole course taught by you. I own Ableton 11 Suite and a Push 2 and would love more help learning those tools.

Hey! Nice video, as always! But one question: how do you use fl plugins (Fruity Parametric EQ for example) in Ableton?

I've gotta ask, what do you keep in the "albino" folder??

@slynk can you do a video specifically for collabing with people on other daws. 5 times now when droping stems into ableton they didn't line up when coming from another daw producer. Sometimes off like a 1/16th or something. What are the usual suspects. Autowarp long samples for example could be a factor if that is on or off. There are companies that make stems and I have noticed the odd time when dropping them in ableton they don't line up. Are you aware of these little hickups and know technical things to look out for that might produce these problems.
@Slynk2 жыл бұрын
When I drag in stems I always turn warping off and then make sure the play head is right at the beginning for every file. Auto warping is probably the cause for things not lining up for you.

Worst case scenario, You: render all tracks to disk, zip, and send. They: drag and drop tracks into a project, edit, and repeat.
@Slynk2 жыл бұрын
Correct, that is the worst case.

You can buy a lot of the fl effects from image line as standalone vsts so you can use them in any daw
