The main couple had many things on their plates: one was lonely and destitute and had to fend for himself after he was finally admitted into a university. The other guy had to please his father and then his mother and that did take quite a few years. So it makes sense for them to meet again after six years although the scene is ambiguous. My hunch is that they met through the years since the now movie director had money to travel and meet his beloved companion whenever he could. Besides the injured guy is now an art teacher because he mentions he has been teaching how to paint with colors (which reminds them of their past). They have different careers but that doesn't prevent them from living together and enjoying each other's presence. They look more mature (of course) taking life as it comes. Yes, they are living their career dreams although they may separate for a short stint from time to time. Their behavior now is more relaxed and they can enjoy life without much concern for the future. I am satisfied with the final episode. We needed to relax after crying and laughing with them throughout the previous episodes. I loved the drama.

This Drama It's full of visual beauty and an exquisite poetic tone, but it´s ending will always have a special place in my mind. This scene and its tone are just magnificent. Qi Lu and Qin Xiao meet again after 6 years, in this scene we see them resuming their relationship, they both look confident in their Love, but we can feel the nervous tickling in their stomachs, the director successfully portrays the mix of feeling they are facing: Love, nostalgia, fear that everything is just a dream, nervousness and Happiness. I know the ending was not perfect, I didn´t like that so many key plots were solved out off-screen, but overall, this was a beautiful story, with beautiful characters and the happy ending they deserve.

I know the ending its not perfect but I really love it, Qi Lu and Qin Xiao really act like a couple who reunated after a long time, happy but a little nervous, like scare that everything its just a dream 🥰 I also love both of their outfits, they really reflect the way their personalities mature over time. Qi Lu seems much more confident and sure of himself, and it makes sense since he finally got rid of his father and is doing what he loves; and now that Qin Xiao no longer feels the need to look tough to hide his vulnerability, his clothes are simpler, suitable for the peaceful life he finally achieved.

I accidentally started to watch this series. So glad I did. The father abuse was heartbreaking but after a few tears I was ok. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 10z ❤

As a film student, I'm pretty sure that the 2nd lead couple got their happy ending together. In the filmmaking area, portraying some reality or non-reality scenes depends on the shot we use on the scene. Look at the frame 0:51 2:52 3:46 on the 2nd lead couple. There's no blurring frame, which means it's reality, and they got their happy ending, but for the main couple, their shot frame was blurring from 2:24 3:53 4:20 which means that it's just someone's imagination if the event really happened. That was the narrative that the director wanted the audience to think about and process. The last script was "The ML hope that the partner was doing something that he liked.." it means that they are not together but wish that their partner always had something that he wanted to pursue.

The ending is not bad, there's room for interpretation. All I wanted was a HAPPY ENDING for this beautiful series, and I'm extremely grateful that that's what we were actually given. 🙂‍↕️❤ So let's be happy, everyone, since it could've ended a lot worse! 😅 (Now, seriously!)

As I expected it to be, we get an open ending for the lead couple. The extra scenes (6 years later) shown here in this highlight are just to appease the fans a bit, as we know from other Series, but they are intended as illusion of the future, just the way QI LU and QIN XIAO had then back in Episode 9 during their rooftop talk about what they wanted to be in the future (a teacher and a film director), and how they pictured that life together. 6 years later they are still longing for that dream, so in the end they failed to fulfill QI LU's maxim of "do what we like, and love the one we love". 🤷‍♂ It is really unfortunate that QIN XIAO couldn't study what he wanted, and become a teacher as he wanted, because of the arm injury. I knew that QI LU messing up with the drug gang was leading to a bloody event, but is really sad to see that the one paying the consequences was QIN XIAO. In the end was QI LU with his naive ways of dealing with everything the one to destroy QIN XIAO's future. The more QI LU wanted to look after QIN XIAO; the more in danger he placed his life and future. 😔 Like AQUALUNG (Matthew Hales) said and taught us in his song "Garden Of Love" (2007): "There's only so much that our heart can grow. Then everything else starts to overflow. But you're young and in love: Back then there was no way of knowing." Cheers...!

There is a short written summary in episode 12, just before this post-credit scene that says Xiao was able to go to college with his top score in the first exam and with the help of the art teacher. Also in the dialogue in this scene he speaks of his day teaching.

Many Chinese BL Series have done that before, with a sort of alternative ending, but this time even that extra story seems ridiculous for many reasons, including QU LU's father, who is not even mentioned. 🤷‍♂ Cheers...!

Love the drama but the last couple episodes seems like the story went in ways that did not make sense and rush. Could have been better but I think they did there best. Overall 8/10 the acting and chemistry was amazing story was good. My ending that I think would work was since the teacher knew what Lu was doing and what xiao injured could have told Lu before so he wouldn’t sacrifice vice versa told xiao what Lu was doing then they could have been together and just support and ended up together rather then sacrificing for nothing and waited 6 years that doesn’t make sense like for that time when xiao got in college and Lu got into film they didn’t connect. This is my review it’s a good drama hope to see more Chinese bl hopefully.

I couldn't help but think the dad beat up the wrong person and was imprisoned, or he finally died, thereby finally freeing his son. People like the dad are incapable of giving up control unless they are cut off from all funds and resources or they're dead.
