I’d just like to say, “thanks”. I’ve been looking, reading, watching reviews on this, that & every other, torch, lantern, headlight, trying to add some new & better systems to my kit and this review got me to hit that “proceed to checkout” button with regards to this item. So “thanks”, a good clear, practical review, with perfect demonstrations of what we need to see, some personal thoughts on it, but not what can often be repeated, repeated annnnnd repeated opinions by “some reviewers”. Clear, concise, presented in a smooth, personable way….👍🏻Ed

Hey Ed, thank you so much for this comment and feedback... I actually forwarded it on to Ledlenser so this helps me a lot. I try to do honest field tests to accurately show what the lights are capable of and in this review I talked to the camera using the light from the MH7 to try and bring something different to the table. Have you received your light yet and are you happy with it? ATVB and thank you for watching and taking the time to write such a helpful comment. Tom

Hi. What is the difference between Mh7 and mh8? Thank you!
@TOMHEANEY1002 жыл бұрын
Hi Sava, the main difference is that the MH8 has the addition of multi coloured LEDs in red green and blue to use fir hunting etc. Some animals are less sensitive to different colours of light... I hope that this answers your question. ATB Tom

Thanks for your videos,they're very helpful. Can you tell me is there a big difference between mh5 400lm and mh8 600lm. Is the mh8 gives you much more light?
@TOMHEANEY1002 жыл бұрын
Hi thank you for watching and your comments.. You can notice the difference with an extra 200 lumen but its only available on boost fro 10 seconds. The high power modes are both 400 lumen as far as I am aware. the MH8 has longer runtimes and also red, blue and green light availability. The Mh8 is also more bulky and weighs more... I hope this helps ATB Tom

It looks like you had your camera's white balance set to auto. As a result, there is little contrast between the light levels in your video.
@TOMHEANEY1002 жыл бұрын
Hi Evan, I don't understand how white balance effects the light intensity. And no I use manual wb as I don't want the camera changing it mid shot.. I can see the changes in light levels fine in the video and the changes from spot to flood and so far have had no other comments re wb.. I shoot high quality videos for this outdoor chanel. Its not a photography chane so wb may not be technically perfect but its the look that I want at this moment in time.. Thank you for your comments and feel to give me further information as there coukd be something that I am missing.. Tom

My h7r bulb isn’t as bright as it was. I may invest. Tell me what’s the point of the boost?? If it’s only on 10 seconds you can’t do much in 10 seconds 😂 it looks bright as can be though. Good for night cycling which I plan to do. Good price too. Good review as usual tom. Atb. 👍

Hi Rahul - The MH8 has a high setting of 400 Lumen and the MH11 is 750 Lumen. This is definitely a noticeable difference IMO. I am currently selling my H15R Core on Ebay. It has a constant high Lumen of 1000 and boost up to 2500 if you fancy brighter again. It is pretty heavy and bulky though as a trade off... ATB and I hope that you are happy with your next one.... I have two MH 7 models. the clear plastic cradle that clicks around the lamp breaks. Two in a row broke for me, it was fast too, less than a month of use. that clip is the one part not available. Its the best lamp ever, but you cant use it if that clip is broken. Disappointing, it just doesn't stand the test of time. Not even close

Hi what are the differences between this and the h7 core ?
@TOMHEANEY100 Жыл бұрын
Apart from having to look it up .. Off the top of my head the core is water proof, a bit heavier, battery at the rear, and has a rotating dial to control the output rather than a set low mid and high... The core also is slightly more durable and made from slightly different materials IMO . I hope that helps.. best wishes Tom

Great video....unfortunately this model has a proprietary rechargable battery....if it took two actual 14500 batteries it would be great....but they joined them somehow....I agree with you on the magnetic charging port....don't know why other makers don't go this route and prefer to make a hole in the light and cover it with a rubber plug...I opted for their mh5 has less power but runs on a true 14500 and also has the magnetic charging.....
@andersriksson100 Жыл бұрын
So true I avoid headlamps with proprietary batteries, too expensive and at times more problematic when charging. I'd like to be able to use my 14500 batteries charged with a regular li-ion charger not beeing dependant on a proprietary magnetic charger. A deal breaker.
@MarkMcCartney Жыл бұрын
It takes AA batteries
@andersriksson100 Жыл бұрын
One reason for not having magnetic charging cable is because that is also proprietary, you can't use a standard USB-C cable to charge. If you loose the magnetic charger cable, you can't charge unless you have an external charger.
@adrianotero7963 Жыл бұрын
@Anders Eriksson this is true......must I made a compromise on the charging system because it is superior to a hole in the unit with a charging port.....if you lose or break the propriety magnetic charging cable that is on you......batteries will eventually die......and I find that after 2 years.....proprietary batteries are no longer available....

Hi Cristi, thank you for this feedback. In the field I have never had any issues with run times on my LedLender lights but then I am not measuring it. I have had no incidents to draw my attention to this aspect of the lights performance. On my next Ledlenser review I will therefore do a runtime test and see how it goes..... ATB Tom

Not a great product, failed after 4 years. Now, it won't cycle from burst mode and turns off after 10 seconds, even with a full charge. Definitely not worth the $80 bucks. Spend less than half and get a Bushnell for $30 bucks at Walmart, and have a great, durable, reliable headlamp. I am sure it's a circuitry issue, no wonder since the entire country of Germany does not have a microchip production plant.

1:37 haw can you say that you're using the MH7 to illuminate that scene!? Not in a million years a MH series would shoot a spread pattern like that.... not even 3 of them together. Build quality is great, I admit, but light wise lower/average. Just another biased so called review.
@TOMHEANEY1003 жыл бұрын
I am going to stop you right there. All the light was provided here by the MH7 100 percent. I would not lie or bring other lights to use for the video. So basically you don't believe me and are saying that this video is dishonest. You are entitled to your opinion and to comment too even if it's the only such comment on this matter, and there are many LedLenser owners who comment on my reviews positively and are happy with the products. I certainly do not appreciate you also saying that my reviews are biased as I have used lights from brands such as Silva, Petzyl, Black Diamond, Exposure Lights, and many others over the years to compare against. Its really simple if you think my reviews are biased don't watch them. If you are an owner of the MH7 then review it yourself, post on your channel and let viewers see your beam shots and opinion too. ATB Tom
