We found a diamond in the rough, he can finish and defend multiples already, great pick by Brad. If he can earn his way on the floor, will look even better with our frontline talent

Looks like someone who could contribute right away. Smart player who lets the game flow.

He's solid. He has a little bit of everything; PnR, PnP, spot shooting, rebounding and defense.

Yep his comp was old al horford I believe

The thing that's impressing me the most is it seems like he knows where to be on the court where he's supposed to be and it seems like from these plays that he has a good Awareness on the court the thing I don't see is a tremendous amount of speed

He is what we thought Grant was gonna be. Small but Big body, and can drive & shoot. They need to sign this dude, great replacement for Brissy

This kid is no bs WAAAAAAAY BETTER than where he was drafted... If the NBA held a redraft after summer league Watson would EASILY be a top 20 pick... Possibly even a lottery pick... Guys who can defend centers... Protect the rim AND shoot 3s at a high level are the second most valuable archetype in the NBA behind two way wings... Brad Stevens said Watson reminded him of an "old version of horford"... And thats EXACTLY what he is By the season after next, when horford is retired... Watson will be the ABSOLUTE PERFECT replacement

I love how much of a team player Watson looks like. He clearly knows how to make the extra pass and cuts well. Lowkey the sort of glue guy every winner needs two or three of. The shooting's holding up pretty well, too. Call me crazy, but I feel like he's going to get more minutes than Scheierman next season.

Anton is more of a wing than a big, I hope he plays more of the 3&4 this season. I think him playin small ball five won’t work

Anton is going to dominate the G league.

He is the most ready of the Celtics prospects.

Love how patient Anton is.. just lets the game come to him and doesn’t force a thing! Baylor is the opposite. He’s trying to do way too much and it’s making him look bad.

Within 2-3 years he will become our forward version of Derrick White. Amazing pickup by Brad.

Kid really looks good inside the court.,. 💪

i like him, he reminds me of al horford, he can drive when needed and also a good 3 pt shooter, just need to improve the rebounding and bulk up. he'll be great and i hope he'll get some minutes
@d3peeto2 ай бұрын
He does all those little things; dribbles to the top of the key, passes out then screens, rolls and makes space by palming his defender then quickly shifts to the rim. Hands are always up and head is actively watching where the ball is to then softly and calmly floating the shot. Yeah he’s an older draft pick and this level of maturity is somewhat expected, but at the end of summer league Watson looks like the better pick. I think one season in the G league to fix some bits and pieces of his game and he could fit into the rotation when we need to make adjustments for the repeater tax or Al retiring etc.

looks more promising than Baylor, hope he will provide some valuable minutes at beginning of the season when KP is missing
@mikaylarivera13372 ай бұрын
imma need him to bulk up and be more physical. use your body he physical be a big man lol. but i believe he shot 35% from 3 taking 4 3s a game. thats pretty damn good. if he work on that 3 ball some more oooofff future big man for the celtics. personally i think he should be on the roster instead of a two way. we have what 2 roster spots left? put watson in there
@J4htheartist2 ай бұрын
Tbh he’s pretty strong for his size. I think staying at this weight is perfect for what Brad envisions and what the team needs. He’s a glue guy that can guard multiple positions. Bulking up will only make him way more slow and hurt his motor. Brad wants to keep him out of the paint clearly considering he wants Anton to shoot every available 3 lol. Celtics run the fastbreak a ton so Antonio needs all the speed in the world. Rebounding wise nobody expects him to grab a ton of boards, he’s still a solid rebounder tho. If he progresses how I think he will, no doubt he’s an upgraded grant Williams with more to offer. His ceiling is a older Al Horford.
