@@DramazingKnight I would like also to add several things: 1. Alchemy of Souls is often called "historical" but for me it is pure fantasy so i did not put it to this list. 2.Our Blooming Youth is last Kdrama I was watching so it can be here just because of fresh impressions. 3. I tried not to put lots of Korean adaptations of western classics (in other case I could easily change Kingmaker for "The Princess Man" for example.

@kirillsarioglo7822 I guess you would be surprised with my list then. I, too, have Alchemy of Souls season 1 in the list because I consider fantasy-historical as not modern. When there are adaptations, I try to watch the original and the korean version, in some cases, the korean version turns out to be better. Anyways, Thank you for sharing :)

@@DramazingKnight Just as a FYI, My Dearest is inspired by/an adaption of Gone with the Wind. For those that don't know GWtW is an American classic epic movie (about 3 hours long) set in the US Civil War era.

Personally, any list that does not showcase Mr. Sunshine automatically loses a bucketful of credibility. My personal No.-1 of all time, all eras, and all places. Nothing better out there anywhere.

@GARYGUYTON-c7i Thanks for sharing your favourite.Everyone has different tastes, so on a lighter note,it's always nice to hear the choices of others. I did watch Mr Sunshine, actors were awesome. The storyline was good, too. The only thing which did not click with me was the casting of the male lead. The age difference was very evident for me. Overall, Mr. Sunshine is a good one, although not in top picks for me. PS:Go Dong Mae was all stars

@@DramazingKnight First, that you replied is a huge surprise. Thank You! I think you are from the sub-continent, (Yes? N? where age- difference really matters, so it's understandable. It's a big deal in Korea as well. Goblin (Great and Lonely God) suffered from the same issue, for a lot of people, Europeans/Americans as well as Asians.

@GARYGUYTON-c7i Personally, for me, age difference is not a deciding criteria to judge a drama. If chemistry is evident, I could care less. Gong Yoo,Lee Dong Wook,Min Namjoong,Zo In Sung so on and so forth, these actors are in the 45ish age bracket and I love all of them. They have starred with females who are younger than them in many dramas, and I've liked most of their pairings. It's just that I feel it didn't click for these two in Mr. Sunshine alone, that's all. I did end up seeing the series till the end because of the acting and storyline. But to be in my best,I'm pretty strict🤣 Do check out the part 2 of the best historical drama series and,I will release part 3 subsequently this week.Check them out,who knows you might find one to your liking.I don't know if you have seen Bridal Mask?If you are into the independence movement or like historicals like that, that's another masterpiece of a drama you might consider. Cheers

@@DramazingKnight Wow, you replied, a huge surprise. I understand the age difference issue. Many are put off by such things, Goblin (Great and Lonely God) suffered from the same thing, including Americans/Europeans, but if I understand properly, E. Asians even more so. On your list, I've seen Queen for 7 Days and Empress Ki only and agree that Queen is the best of the two. I'm searching for the other three now. Seon is on VIKI so I can grab it, Ja Myung on Kocowa, so maybe through VIKI, 6 Flying Dragons only on Prime Video, which I don't have... Is it worth picking up Prime to watch it?
