Good point about class AB is we can modify them and parts are easily available 😊

Yes... Easily Repairable Without Deep Knowledge 😀👍🏻

You are wrong on the second point, Audio quality of class AB amplifier is better and has better fidelity than the class D amplifier any day, especially high frequency is much better in the class AB. Companies are switching to ICs for the power efficiency and heating issues and not for sound quality, although the sound quality of class D amplifier has also become good. Problem is not amplifiers but the manufacturers who don't design board well and use poor quality components. Class AB amplifiers if designed well with good components sounds very clear and good. Another reason is that many companies are shutting down class AB amo prodction due to availability of cheap chinese copies, for example TDA2030, the most popular IC is no longer in production due to chinese copies. Still some good ICs are available which I have used give very genuine sound.

You are Confusing Sound Quality With Sound Tone. Class AB has Analog Classic Tone which has a different charm. That warmy tone coming out from those old style AB Boards pleases most audience including me. But if we want to move on, then we have to welcome efficiency & noiseless algorithm which AB lacks. if you are a techy then you must know why it produces 50-60hz humming noise quite naturally, I don't wanna explain here. Class D uses PWM, Which means sound becomes theory on a graph paper as waves created by millions of dots, in coming days, More driving frequency, more dots, more quality, just like you mentioned D has come a long way. Personally I like AB tone but D quality. Like my microphone, audio mixer is analog but home theater is digital. Hope you understand now.

@@adtechify Yes you about right about the noise. But as you say AB's Tone is better and sometimes when some tech is dying, you get emotionally attached to them.

Yeah That's a different discussion.

How in the world did you hear click pop noise in a class ab amp? Thd ?? Bro class d works on pwm that oscillates continuously and needs a good filter to filter out 80% of that noise. Still if you keep your ears close enough or in low noise rooms you can hear random buzzing noise in class d amps. Class ab will only make that noise if you have messed up the circuit before that or due to ground looping. Its basically a persinal error

Brother, The oscillator oscillates beyond your imagination limit in MHZ or GHZ limit in just coming days it'll improve drastically because of the technology itself. Just don't counter for something you have or don't have. Just compare a basic class-ab board (available everywhere) with sony d-40, d20, Philips mms, spa model, Lg Lk72, Yamaha, Samsung Soundbars, Bose, JBL professional & consumer products (They all use class-d). These are popular because of it's sound quality but most people don't know the technology lying behind this. I did the comparison practically from different places before covering this topic. The best way of comparing class-ab & class-d is to boost the systems above 80% volume. We have to adopt new technology.

Yeh 10 sal pehle ki baat thi 😆 Apke paas koi cheez nahi hai to kal zarur hoga! Lekin uska matlab yeh nahi hai ki wohe kharab hai! It's technology! Not a property!!
