A good recipe to use leftover pulp from homemade milk! I love this! Muffs looking nice and fluffy...

Thanks! I just put out a new video yesterday, and I use the pulp to make chocolate muffins! They're so good!

Looks soooo good! Oatmilk is the only milk I drink now ever since my tree nut allergy revelation. The muffins look super tasty as well - can't wait to try them out

HEY LADIES!!! Thanks! Since making my own, this is the only milk I really enjoy. It's not store bought, but it's the best I've hade homemade. And don't get me started on the muffins! I just made a batch of chocolate ones in my newest video, and I can't decided which are my favorite... Nor do I have to decide! Once you get the basic ratio down, the possibilities are endless.

Ever since I discovered Almond Cow a few months ago I am dreaming about it. Honestly, such a great product for anyone on a plant-based diet or even simply for those with intolerances/allergies! I think it should also be relatively easy to fortify such milk with calcium! Other than that, I just loove this muffin idea! They sound absolutely delicious - I would only swap the cranberries for some dried pineapple or mango as I am sure these would make it even more Pina-Colada-like ! Thank you for sharing this idea with us! . Sending you lots of positive energy! Stay safe and have a great rest of this week!

Hi thanks a lot for the video, I'm considering getting an almond cow but wondering if I can make an oatmilk suitable for foaming so I can use it in lattes/cappucino's. I have not seen anyone do this yet. Have you tried?
@MonsonMadeThis2 жыл бұрын
Homemade oat milk is a very different beast than the commercial kinds. It does foam up a bit, but you really have to be careful with heating it because all of the starches in it turn your milk to gravy. It's not pleasant, unless you're craving gravy. You can warm it. You can cold froth it. But there's a limit.

Thank you for this video! Love the idea of muffins for the oat pulp. For the oat milk, do you soak the oat groats beforehand (and if so, for how long)? I also have an Almond Cow and have tried following their recipe (I don't add sugar or oil or other flavorings) but have yet to make oat milk that I like (and I love commercially made oat milk). Any tips appreciated!

Howdy! Thanks for watching. Here's a link to the written out recipe: monsonmadethis.com/easy-oat-milk/ Yes, I soak the groats for at least 2 hours, and I've even let them soak overnight before. I pretty much just followed the recipe on the bag that the oat groats came in... 2/3 cup dry oat groats, soaked and drained (expands to 1 cup), plus 5 cups filtered water in the machine.

Could this machine make other nut milks
@MonsonMadeThis3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Almond, cashew, coconut, oat, soy (must be simmered after)... and any combination thereof!

Also, can we just notice how you nearly inverted the wet/dry definition in this video? :D Wet pulp in fry ingredients, dry chickpea flour in the wet... But I guess the most important is that it worked beautifully!

It's a bit confusing for sure. Haha. But it worked out!

Is the sieve easy to clean? I was just thinking about how I need to start making my own plant milks but I always hate straining it through the nut milk bag. The almond cow looks like a great alternative. Btw, the muffins look really yummy 😋
@MonsonMadeThis3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. It just rinses out. Worst case scenario you use a little kitchen or bottle brush if anything gets stuck in the holes, but in my experience, when you transfer the pulp to another container, 99% comes right out. The rest rinses away with warm water. Things may stick if you let it dry, but if you rinse it right after, you'll be good.

Does the oat milk have a slimy texture?
@MonsonMadeThis3 жыл бұрын
Nope. The machine eliminates all of the variables. It's, I think, a combination of the whole oat groats and the fact that they don't get over-blended.
@JohannaZee3 жыл бұрын
Haha...I have so much oat groats I'll have to do this over and over!

Here is the original oat milk video I posted years and years ago. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6DXmJumba58kLc I would use the new recipe, with the oat groats, and the 2/3 cup oat, soaked, to 5 cups water, and then just blend and strain with what you've got. There will be a few more variables to nail down, but after a couple tries, you should have great oat milk!
