The first time I watched the movie I remember thinking to myself ''I know that gun is placed like that by accident, but wouldn't it be hilarious if...'' then it happened!

The original line is: "I shot Marvin", Travolta wasn't supposed to say "in the face". Tarantino hated it, but couldn't take it out of the movie. I think they were only able to do that shot in one take. I've always loved the whole line of "I shot Marvin in the face", it makes me laugh every time I hear it.

Weapon safety rules (treat never keep keep) 1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded 2. Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot 3. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire 4. Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire 5. Know your target, what lies beyond and in between 6. Under all circumstances never give a weapon (fake or real) to Alec Baldwin.

Why did so many people laugh at poor Marvin getting shot in the face?? EMOReacts - best reaction.
@ashleighelizabeth5916Ай бұрын
Because it's funny. It's comedy of the absurd or comedy of the ridiculous. Of all the ways for the poor SOB to have died in this movie he basically died because he was trying to stay out of an argument between two gangsters and got killed for his efforts anyway. Basically it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation taken to the extreme. And since many of us have felt like we were screwed no matter what we did it at some point in our lives it was relatable. It's also funny because of Vinny and Jule's reaction to it. They are acting like it's some mundane shit like they didn't check the tire pressure and now they have a flat and what a pain in the ass it is for them. The reaction is at odds to how any normal person would react and because of that it's absurd and amusing. When this came out and was in the theaters EVERYBODY in the theater laughed. Yeah, some of us felt guilt about it but we still laughed.
@peves-Ай бұрын
It's the absurdity of saying "aww man, I shot Marvin in the face." in such a calm manner after he just brutally killed someone. The way he said it was like "Bummer man, he died." It was like the same level as "aww man, I dropped my ice cream cone on the ground" But the care in his voice was even less than that.
@locutus9956Ай бұрын
And tats why the number 1 rule of firearm safety is never point a weapon at anything youre not prepared to shoot ;) ...... I mean given the rest of the context I suspect this is more or less what was going to happen to Marvin later anyway but still......
@locutus9956Ай бұрын
I mean also the other 'first rule' of gun safety is keep your finger the f**k away from the trigger unless your ready to shoot.... an experienced hitman like Vincent should be well aware of that... mind you from you know... the rest of the movie... Vincent is hardly a genius.....
