Hello there! Which do you like better the Cricut machine or the Brother scan n cut? Do they do the similar things?
@craftwithfelicia3 жыл бұрын
@@tashabrown8301 great question! They both do pretty much the same things. But I have to admit, the Brother display on the machine itself is very helpful to view the status of what's going on, and also to do some tasks independent of the computer. That's not possible with the Cricut, and since their Design Space software can be a little unreliable, a little self-containment can be really helpful. What's really cool is the Brother has a scan and cut function, which saves several steps if you do that sort of thing. @craftwithfelicia3 жыл бұрын
You can and should use other branded shirts! You can use virtually ANY shirt for iron-on vinyl, but look for the word 'infusible' on the shirt if you want to use the infusible inks and have them last. To be honest, we used a $3 Gildan t-shirt with infusible ink, and before we washed it, it was surprisingly good! After the first wash, you could barely see the infusible ink anymore. Oh - and infusible ink only appears on very light colored shirts (white, light grey, yellow, etc). You can buy all of these on Amazon here: amzn.to/3uCcAIF

What is the cutting tool that you used to cut down the infusible ink material? I didn’t see it in the description.
@craftwithfelicia2 жыл бұрын
It's the Cricut Trimmer! Amazon affiliate link here: amzn.to/3whqvaF But you can use any scissors or paper cutter really. It's basically paper.

If you have scraps do you organize them to know what kind of vinyl it is?
@craftwithfelicia2 жыл бұрын
AWESOME question! Felicia puts them into plastic bins by permanent vs removable vs HTV. Great idea to save + organize!

I would like to know the easiest way to add quotes & wording to t-shirts & hoodies (some have small writing) should I do HTV air should I print and cut and what vinyl would I use please 🙏🏼
@craftwithfelicia2 жыл бұрын
definitely use HTV vinyl for shirts and hoodies. any HTV vinyl will work - you don't have to use cricut.
@josephalvarez544 Жыл бұрын
So do you have to use a circut shirt or is that preferred?
@craftwithfelicia Жыл бұрын
You cans use any shirt within iron on material but with infusible ink you need a shirt high in polyester - doesn’t have to be the Cricut brand specifically.

Is there a formula to know exactly how big to make the image to fit the tee shirt so there is no guess work?
@craftwithfelicia Жыл бұрын
That's a hard one. I've found that having at least 5 inches of blank space on either side of the design works best for adult size tshirts. It really depends on the design. Sometimes smaller is better.

@@GiveThemWell Yes. I am going to try the suggestion of 5 inches of space on each side.

@craftwithfelicia3 жыл бұрын
Hello Christel! Any Windows 10 computer with either USB, Bluetooth, or both will work with Design Space and the Cricut Maker. Also, there are apps for the iPhone and iPad too! We've used all three and they all work very well. Thank you for watching!

I don't even know where to start. What kind of machine do I need? What tools? How much does it cost to upkeep all the products to make cards, shirts and such? How much is the heat press? You can't use other shirts?
@lucbelcher72563 жыл бұрын
Also, I love just regular crafting as well. Please tell me I only need one machine and it can do everything lol. Thank you!
@craftwithfelicia3 жыл бұрын
You CAN use other shirts with vinyl - just about any cotton or blend t-shirt! No silk or anything that doesn't like hot irons. We use $2 Walmart shirts! Upkeep is zero - no oil, no maintenance, no cleaning. You can use plain paper or cardstock too, or the Cricut card making kits if you want. We use both. Regarding the machine you choose, it really depends how deep you want to go. For a few small shirts or cards here and there, the Joy will do. If you want to make 100 t-shirts a week, you’ll probably want a Maker. This video we did on Amazon Live explains the differences. www.amazon.com/live/broadcast/8069952b-d706-4960-8cc6-33c09511af57
