BEST (& Invisible) Water Storage Solution | Dragon Quest Builders 2

I played around a bit with the storage options of water and other liquids (like lava, poisonous water and plasma). There I stumbled upon a nice "little" trick on how to make the water seemlingly invisible. Enjoy! :)

I just made waterfalls, you can collect at the bottom of the waterfall and it'll never empty cause it will refill itself, the 1 advantage over your system, it doesnt matter if you're a bit to high orso, the waterfall will still refill itself.

Ben, so I did this finally for myself after finally beating the game. Yours is East --> West. However, mine is oriented North --> South. The position of the tiles changes relative to the water storage units by two spots closer. So you have each water change block 5 away, mine are 3 away from their storage units. So the orientation on the map also alters the nature of this format, but of course the same hierarchy.

I have it North to South as well, but the range still seems to be 5 blocks, so I'm not sure what's up exactly?

Clever idea. That was like an advanced idea I had. Good job researching the water priority of the jar.

I hate myself right now for not thinking of this. What I did was hollow out the mountain between Green Garden and Cerulean Steepe, then I build a tower inside, then places a single source block of each liquid type (at different elevations because I apparently a masochistic that didn't know that all, except lava, source blocks don't mix) behind a slice gate, and finally trailed and errorred an over compliated wiring system to make water flow into a water for collecting. I mean: love how it my design turned, but... You can't send two different types of water down the tube. If you forget to turn of the lava (or don't wait for it to clear) you have to clear out the Chert the lava leaves behind, and replace the source block that the lava turned into Chert. Finally, and most annoying, the way have it set up makes you rewire everything if you happen to forgot a liquid type (which I did, and I still haven't bother to make changes to add muddy water to the my system).

Thanks, just from the title of this you gave me the idea of making little pools of different waters on my island, so i don't need to visit other islands. Ps, love your big building builds. You must have spent a lot of time clearing out land to build everything. At least the golems make things a lot quicker after finishing the second area. Keep up the awesome videos 😁👍

The upgrade won't make any difference when it comes to this. It just allows you to do Shallow Water. (At least I'm pretty sure that's all it does. Haven't seen it do anything otherwise.) Edit: CORRECTION, there are some liquids it will not scoop, my mistake... I WAS NEVER HERE!! *Runs away into the night*

smart build. i would have just made colored light blocks and built the storage system further back from the space you stand on, instead of all the way to the right... making sure that the only square in range was the liquid you wanted. but if it works!

Of course you can also do it this way but it will take up a bit more space. I wanted to make the most compact storage solution possible :)

@@BenXC i hear that, but youre utilizing an extra, what... 5x7 empty space to its side? im sure you did it to ensure you dont place something nearby that could, A, allow someone to ruin the liquids, or B, break the blocks in someway during house building. besides, i placed my liquids area on an island, floating in the sky, near the top of the world, in the corner; with a Buggy parked nearby for teleporting.. mine is 100% an endgame thing that is nowhere near the rest of my creations.

This is nice setup... but since water in two tiles above us did not get collected... how about instead of ground marker... make marker using the real liquid 3 tiles above (encased in glass) and in 2 tiles above us is something to keep it flowing down (earth tile/rock tile/anything)... then we can make something like a pipe that make us like collecting water from the pipe.

A question if I may... Is my no gold star spiked armor with superior stats better than my 3 gold star auroral armor with inferior stats? I don't know what difference the gold stars make if any. Nor do I recall it being explained in the game. Though I may have overlooked it. Searching online for stuff on this game is almost never any help. Thank you.

The stars define the rarity of an item, which doesn't mean that an item without stars is inferior to one with 3 stars. I also wear the spiked armor :)

How do you fill the wall in? If I only dig 2 deep and put the window in the front and the liquid behind it, it looks like I can put a block in front but can’t because that’s where the window actually is. Am I missing something?

Stairs thing and pouring it down does NOT work... it repels... no matter what wall I go at or even the middle. If I do it from the standing on glass, it only fills up to two levels...

Ok ich schreib das jetzt einfach nich mal auf Deutsch weil ich vorher nocht wusste das du deutsch sprichst ,kartographisch gesehen unter der Bergspitze gibt es ein riesiges Kinder des Hargon Gewölbe, man kommt durch einen Unterwassereingang westlich der Bergspitze rein ,ich weiß nicht ob das was zu bedeuten hat ,kannst es dir ja mal ansehen(eine Erwähnung meinerseits als Entdecker wär nett) und weißt du vllt ob man die monster vom Raumschiff wieder trifft ,vllt ist dieser Ort ja für sie.

I have a question, since I feel I'm doing something wrong, how do you get the glass panes to show what liquid is behind them? I can't for the life of me get it to work on my end. Also I don't know if it matters but I'm on the switch version.

Same... it looks like the liquid isn’t “flowing” down, but if I break the connecting window, the liquid will flow out...

@@MondayCoupleZzang I stumbled onto how to fix this issue, on the last page of the settings you need to turn on 'See water through glass'. You can also turn on the 'Auto-adjust glass position' to have the glass move closer to the water.

You have to complete the tablet things to get 45 missions finished, then the hammerhood of the mountain will upgrade your pot

Make sure the ground is not muddy soil. I had the same issue until I changed the floor tiles to dolomite
