running the mill in the rain is better than it sitting still
@CecilTreadwell3 күн бұрын
I lived in Kodiak, Alaska for 3 years. Nothing stops for the rain! Kids play in it or they will never go outside. Fishermen and loggers work in the rain too. The fishermen work round the clock until their fishing boat is full or they get called in by a cannery to deliver what they have because it is their turn in the queue.

The Boss and the Team have had a rough year. Equipment breakdowns, weather, equipment replacements, new showroom. Yes, of course a cover over the new mill would be better. If Em can keep the control box dry, the rest of the mill can take some water. No more freeze danger.

Both of those machines should be under a roof. You could build a kiln in one end. You can build a pole building Eighty feet wide and as long as you want it. Put metal on the roof and leave a space for the roof cap. Get great big eves trough and get some one to build you a big lined pond and you would have water enough if you ever had a fire. You could have Two 3 inch pumps and then take them down to 2 inch and you would have plenty of water pressure
@glenshauf99908 ай бұрын
I talked to a friend who drew up metal buildings for years . You need a considerable amount of clearance to put the longest piece of material you would ever cut and be able to haul them in and out. The Then the rest could be built like a pole building

It’s always great to see that LT70 in action making boards, and future potting soil. So many comments about building a shed. I know y’all have thick skin, but not always easy to ignore. Not sure whether you read these or not. Stay safe, stay strong, and keep that positive hard working attitude! Remember folks, the Boss Man, Boss Lady, the kids, Grandpa etc are all people too. They are kind enough to share so much of what they do. There’s only so many hours in a day, money in the bank, and other variables going on in their lives off camera. Understandable that most fans of the channel aren’t intending any harm, think about seeing them work in the rain and if everyone that drives past tells them to build a shed or something. It would get old pretty quick. I’m very new to the channel and am mainly watching for tips and tricks on how they are setup and milling lumber. I’m personally surprised at how many differences there are between the 70 and the 40 as well as the differences between their 40 and our older diesel 40. Nobody is really being mean about it, but just remember they aren’t actors, they’re regular people just like us. Attitudes are contagious and I love their positive attitude, work ethic, and seeing the fun they have while doing high quality work!!! Stay awesome! Their Woodmizer LT70 is engineered and made to be portable and move to various job sites in all weather 24/7/365. Except for extreme weather, it’s only limitation is what the operator can endure. I’m looking forward to seeing more sawing on the 70! Cheers, 🍻🍷 🥂

Ought to have the boss get a couple of pop up canopy tents for his most valuable assets (his employees / daughters!) They're easy to set up and move around if need be, and can be anchored with sand bags or stakes / guy lines. Be real nice to keep the new mill operator's station out of the weather. I know WoodMizer makes them pretty rugged, but keeping the controls and control panel dry & out of the sun has to be a good thing.
