He is. LeBron had two things on him: playmaking and defense. He's still the better playmaker, given that he's played point his entire career and is a natural facilitator alas KD is a natural scorer. But I gotta confess, I never thought KD would surpass him on the defensive end in such a way. Contrary to the narrative the media feeds, LeBron cannot guard all 5 positions, KD can, and he's proved it. Durant is also a very good passer/play creator, unstopplabe offensive force, rim protector, elite on-ball defender, great rebounder, etc. He is the best player in the league, has been for a couple of years now. But again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
