Not sure if you're talking about the fsmash or the jet hammer. Jet hammer was definitely fully charged. The fsmash wasn't. Now fsmash no longer can break full shields regardless if it is fully charged or not.

Orson yeah sweet spot F-Smash with Dedede will break a Full Shield. He has the Strongest Fsmash in the game I believe. It takes a while to start up but It’s a great feeling to land the sweet spot and Kill at 20%.

You don’t exactly spam, you really use them for edge guarding & zoning but sometimes use them as an actual projectile as a mixup.

You are never safe from a Dedede main, you can have a 2 stock advantage, but Dedede will find a way to kill you at 30% in your 3 stocks Dedede main gang here

You whiff a counter, you get punished hard. You see them sometimes, but you won't see a high-level player baited into attacking a counter the way a quickplay player might.

There are a lot of reasons why you get hit. using counter is like saying to your opponent "hey i know what you're up to. Better change up what you're doing." Rather than keeping your opponent's mind away from why they got hit, they're focused on escaping a combo or regaining stage control because using a counter is a red flag for what they did wrong to get hit. They'll adapt almost instantly and counters are very easy to punish hard.

Deadass, if Dedede carried a lighter Hammer, his ground and air speed would go up, but his fall speed would go down slightly. Maybe it's just me that thinks the only reason the terrible things about Dedede are that way because of his choice of weapon. Basically, his Hammer gives him immense kill power but lack luster movement.

The pros generally put him in mid tier, and yet I've seen more than a few Dedede's make top 8 in more than a few events now, with more regularity than most other mid tiers. And at least more often than I've seen Inklings or some other supposed "better" characters make it as well. I don't want to say the big players might have and continue to massively underestimate this character but something just isn't obviously adding up as the weeks go by. It could just be people unfamiliar with the matchup but I dunno, patterns are patterns. Zaki is so damn good with the character though, he almost makes it look like he counteracts Dedede's supposed weakness in approach, off of sheer read skill and aggression alone.

Kiyosuki im you said it it’s the skill of people using dedede not the character itself Dedede is pretty flawed and his flaws can be exploited a lot but with good training you can get around them I’d say the place dedede is in right now is the best place a character can be in,I believe that if you have most of the cast in mid tier you’re doing a great job at balancing
