Mike Tyson's boxing style is known as "peek-a-boo." He'd bob and weave to avoid his opponents punches. His other signature move was a punch to the solar plexus and immediately after, an uppercut to the jaw. I've seen Tyson finish off many an opponent that way.

The worst thing about watching Mike in his prime was being from Britain all his fights were at four am here so you would sit up all night and he was blasting everybody out of there in usually the first round ,if you were lucky some lasted a couple of rounds but you had to watch him,he had the fastest hands of any heavyweight I have seen ,his combinations were amazing to watch.i don't care about his private life in my eyes he is equal to Ali as the greatest boxer of all time

There's a reason Tyson has historical significance beyond any drama his personal life may have endured. I was lucky to be into my midlife when this guy starts making waves. I never followed boxing although aware enough to name names and understand rules. I started following Tyson though. Without internet, news had to compete for airtime and Tyson got a LOT.

Now that I am older, I am not a fan of any violent sport. Having said that, boxing with its rules is far more appreciative than the street fighting we see nowadays. I seen every one of Tyson's fights as they happened, and I believe he was up there with a Rocky Marciano and the best there ever was when he was in his prime. The combination of power and speed made all the difference. I was surprised some of the heads remained attached to some of the guys he fought when he connected with his uppercuts, that's how vicious they were. I also think some challengers were actually too intimidated to give their best showing too. They just ducked out early, which was probably a smart thing to do. I knew he was going to punish Holmes too for badmouthing him and revenge for the Ali fight, which should have never happened, as Ali was way past his prime and ill at that time.

if you are referring to mma(ufc) as street fighting you should know that boxing is far more dangerous then mma. boxing gloves cause much more trauma to the brain then bare knuckles or the 4 ounce gloves mma fighters use. mma may appear worse because it gets bloodier but thats usually small cuts that are not damaging. the 10 second count in boxing is also more dangerous. it allows a person who has trauma from already being hit hard enough to get knocked , to get up and get hit again. typically in mma if you get hit hard enough to where you are defenseless, the fight is stopped

@@dwood21851 what do you expect from people who don’t actually know fighting, and at the same time don’t mind watching people get tackled in the head 20+ times a game, over a whole season with like 40+ games a season. People need to educate themselves and not listen to people paid to keep other sports down in favour for the more mainstream ones

I’m old enough to have watched the Tyson fights live. There’s no question that Tyson is the goat. There’s no better they’re never will be, and when you see him where he the opponent will throw the jab he’ll slip under it and then he’ll come with the hook to the body, the opponent drops the guard to the body and then pow to the head knock out, Michael Mike is a encyclopedia of boxing even at 58 years old. He’s going to knock Jake Paul’s head clean off and I can’t wait.Mike has what you call a peek a boo uppercut. And it’s usually followed a hard hook. And every fight was like that it was OK Mike’s fighting again. Another knockout it’s gonna last two rounds if it last two rounds.

Id say the scariest part of Tyson aside from how hard he was hitting people is how fast he did it. Anyone would normally lost some speed for power or power for speed but Mike was a fast a lightweight but still hit harder than all the heavyweights. Then was doing it with hate and anger, and can still do it at almost 60 years old.

Most people don't realize Tyson is a really short man. At 5'9 he could beat the snot out bigger men and much taller men. I think he fought with a Nepoleon complex and took a great deal of satisfaction out of standing over the "big men" that he turned in a pile 6'4 and 230-pound tub of goo.

Tyson is originally from Brooklyn, NY. He was barely raised by any parental figures whatsoever and was basically a thug from a tender age. Robbing stores at 11 years old makes you one bad egg. It wasn't til reform school at 15-16 where he took up boxing and found his calling. Tyson is the best fighter that ever lived. He is one menacing individual...period. People like Logan and Jake Paul have called him out. I swear to God Tyson at 57 years old would eat those boys. He is a gladiator and a total force to be reckoned with. That man, even on the screen, terrifies me to no end.

Normal it's who wins or who loses, or what round does your fighter win in, but in Tyson fights we'd actually have bets on what exact time of the first round Tyson would win. In one fight my buddy had to run across the street for beer before the fight. when he came back ten minutes later it was already over.
