The Steelers selected NC State LB Payton Wilson at #98 overall in this year's draft. Wilson was the 2023 Chuck Bednarik Award Winner, awarded annually to the best defensive player in college football. Many had Wilson as their #1 LB in the draft class and he was once in conversations to be a first round pick, but medical concerns caused him to fall into the 3rd round. He is an athletic freak who ran a 4.43 40 yard dash at the combine while standing 6'4 235lbs. Lots of potential if healthy. #Steelers

He’s smooth. I’ll have to go back for time stamp but he literally dropped into coverage, took away two reads and the check down all on the way to the quarterback on a scramble. That was user madden stuff. Seriously….I see why Keuchly publicly endorsed him.
