It literally looks like they've taken parts from Keaton, Bale and Affleck's batsuits and glued them together. It's not great but I suppose they weren't going to spend a fortune making a costume that was going to be used in one shot.

Jared Wignall which is actually pretty accurate to comics where it’s always meant to be black but with blue highlights to simulate lighting and 3 dimensional space but then over time they just made it completely blue than black again, then blue again and so on.

If I worked on the show and had an important role I would’ve had the Batsuit more on the fabric body suit side and make the episode a two parter, make everyone look older, recast Bruce, let Jeremiah escape after fighting Batman rewrite the episode, keep Jim’s mustache, possibly keep J’s hair, killed off Barbra Keen, make one episode more focused on Jim and the GCPD and the original cast and make the second part more based on what Bruce does so it would show the new Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and a Batmobile that isn’t sponsored by any car brand for a bad advertisement.

You got to remember this is Batman's first appearance to Gotham and for himself as well, Batman learns over the years what the suit needs and doesnt need to be productive in fighting crime and protecting himself at the same time. He grows and adapts to his crime fighting environment as time and different villans come to Gotham he grows with those changes and so does his suit.

True, there were some things about the suit I didn't like. Like you said, I didn't like how it was armored in some sections, and fabric in others. The ears do look a bit ridiculous compared other versions we've seen, where they at least look more like horns. And the cape, they could have done the cut away at the bottom so that when he jumps, it would have looked like bat wings instead of a single piece of fabric.

My biggest problem is that I had hoped for an episode of Batman, or at least a final scene. I was disappointed that all we got was one shot that was so quick the only way to see it was to freeze frame it, and it didn't even look that great. It was BARELY better than the 5 pixel blur of Superman we saw at the end of Smallville, and I am thankful for that, but I really would have enjoyed seeing him in action in to save the day and a quick nod to Gordon as he swoops away. It wasn't terrible but I really wanted more.

My theory. 1. they didn't have enough budget to do a suit for 2 seconds 2) they suit was shown for like 2 second so they're wasn't much of a point spending all that money and 3) this was his first night out as batman, he probably just thrown something together until Fox made him something more suitable.

It's obviously black. The blueish hue is entirely due to lighting and the color grade. Blue light in film visually communicates night time lighting and particularly moonlight.

Kodie Dillon what does that have to do with anything? At this point you’re just making excuses for them. I know the show didn’t have that big of a budget but neither do any of the arrowverse shows and they atleast have come up with some really cool looking suits. A lot of you guys do nothing but make constant excuses for this show and always have. It’s like you all realized how weak the show was at times and you got used to it being crap so you just accepted it. Compare it to any other decent-good show on tv right now and it’s quite obvious how bad it was. In a time where we are getting shows that are movie quality or better and studios are taking tv much more seriously Gotham feels like it was 10 years behind. Hell I’d even go as far to say that smallville a show that ended forever ago was better than Gotham.

I wasn't a fan of the guy that wore the costume throughout the episode, I know David couldn't fit and was supposed to be older, but you could just see the guy who wore the costume with no makeup in the background, and it's just bad. But I do like the suit, if they had more budget it would've been great, at least we got batman. That's all that matters, and it was his first suit. so you can't really judge if they had a low budget, and it was his first suit. Of course, it gets better over time. But it's fine for what it is.

It's Toby McGuire's spiderman outfit while wrestling with macho, It's daredevil's ski cap covering his eyes. Bruce is still a kid, he's not the great tactician and strategist we all know.
