Higher alkalinity could dry and break the skin/fat making it susceptible for harmful pathogens to enter your body, too much acidity or pH lower than 4 could irritate your skin causing acne and pimple (Avoid skin care DIY that uses Lemon or any citric acid containing products please!). So basically if you use products with higher or lower than 5-6 pH level it will corrode your skin, hence pH balance.

yes lahat ng skin types dapat nasa average pH level lang talaga, not to high not to low. But sometimes merong mga products na hindi effective kahit nasa average pH level ka. I've tried before and switching to celeteque , it has an average pH level which is good but hindi nag work saakin🥺 so never na ako nag stop sa ponds. Yes mataas ang pH, and depende sayo kung pano mo aalagaan at itretreat yung face mo ng ibang products. I can say ponds really works for me at mga serums and toners ko average yung ph level so hindi na sisira yung skin barrier ko. But maybe mag switch ako sa ibang cleanser na average ang pH, and hoping sana mag work. But I appreciate ponds for leaving my skin clear, and forever be a fan of ponds.
