@@tacticaltruth8118 I guess I was wrong in my comment. I got supplementary insurance through AARP with Hartford. This covers what my Medicare does not. I have not had to pay for any health care costs, including a night in hospital over heart issues and a number of tests including cat scan and mri. Also, new arthritis care with cat scan, X-rays and physiotherapy, without any out of pocket. Cost, $220.00 month over Medicare. Age, 69, now 70 years old.

I used to work with a County agency then a regional state aging agency in my younger years in the late 1990s. Stephanie this is the most clear and concise teaching I've ever heard on explaining the different supplemental options with medicare supplemental plans. Thank you for making this video to educate seniors in a non-biased way! I'm going to check out your additional videos and wish you success in the future. Thanks for taking the time to do this because in a few years I'm going to need this myself.

Great video Stephanie. I've worked in hospitals all my life. Most people don't know that when you get admitted to a hospital, you sign a big stack of forms. Nobody really reads them, but one of those forms is permission to put a lien on your home. So if you have no insurance, or inadequate insurance, it can force the sale of your home or lead to medical bankruptcy. Choosing the right plan is more important than ever. Those hospitals get their money one way or the other.

Hi there, your videos have been so helpful to us in our search for the right supplemental plans for Medicare. We have one question: if we plan to move within the next five years (to be closer to family), will we need to buy another supplemental plan in the state that we move to (Hawaii to Pennsylvania) or can we keep the same one? We're trying to avoid having to go through medical underwriting if possible. In other words, is the supplemental insurance that we purchase tied to the state that we live in?

okay Martin, so generally speaking, investing calls for more knowledge. For this reason, it's crucial to have a strong support system (financial counselor) to lead you through, particularly while choosing assets. I work with (REGINA LOUISE COLLARO) a registered wealth manager and investment advisor. For the record, it has been the best experience for my finances. You may have heard of her because of how well-known her services are. Did you enroll in Medicare both Parts A and B? If so, and you plan to retire next year at age 68 you would be able to get Plan G “guaranteed issue” if you turned 65 in 2020 or later, and in most states Plan N would be medically underwritten. So, your eligibility for Plan N will depend on your health. If you have delayed Part B then you can get any Medicare Supplement Plan, since you will be new to Part B upon retirement.

I am a disabled survivors benefits person. I have just started to have the plan being and being charged $179.00 or so each month now. Started last month. I have medicaid with this but I know in a few years I won't 62. Plus I know it won't be easy to get a cheap type g supplement plan at that time. My income is not very high at all so I want to keep the prices down.

I’m on Plan G. Was going to switch to N but didn’t like the idea of having to check out each doc to make sure they accept Medicare assignment (my state allows excess charges and what happens if an emergency comes up and I can’t check?). Plan High G actually makes more sense than Plan N to me, in that regard. At least with High G, I know I’d be out of pocket under 3k and once the deductible is met, I’d have Plan G! Plan N is a ? To me.

Thanks for breaking it all down so clearly. I’m curious how you make your living as you must receive money from the supplemental/advantage plan carriers and would you be biased if you got paid more by one or another of them?

You mentioned that you could only change plan within 6 months that you became eligible. For me, I went with Medicare Advantage plan this year and an agent told me in 2020 that I could change back to traditional medicare within the first year on Medicare Advantage plan. Is it 6 months or is it 1 year in my case? Thank you.

Up to 6 months from your Part B effective date is your Medicare Supplement "Open enrollment period". Some people may also qualify for a "Trial Right" to leave their Medicare Advantage Plan and get a Medicare Supplement Plan within 12 months of joining one, if they meet specific criteria -www.medicare.gov/supplements-other-insurance/when-can-i-buy-medigap/guaranteed-issue-rights

If you are new to Medicare then the Dec 7th deadline doesn’t apply to you.
