It's just random luck. I got most of my rare blades from common cores, including Zenobia (she was around my 10th rare blade).

So... let me get this straight... - Keep the Common blades of the element you wish to get the Rare Blade - Use boosters to increase you odds - Increase your Luck stat So... if I want to get Floren, I need to store Earth Blades and boost the Compassion stat. Same goes with Kora and Electric Blades...

Ok, cool, thanks, I'll take any tip. Funny enough, Xenobia was unlocked in Chapter... 6, I think, with Zeke, while KOS-MOS was unlocked by Nia in Chapter 4. Man... that RNG is a tough nut to crack. I did notice that the same Common Blade can have the same name but not the same element if you release and re-awaken it. I've already beat the beat, so I'm less in a hurry, but considering that each unique Blade has a sidequest and heart-to-hearts (with cinematics and even voicework), I feel like it's a real pain in the you-know-where that several Blades are random, while a few come from specific cores (Roc, Aegeon, Vess, Wulfric, Praxis, Theory, Kasandra, Sheba). BTW, I've gotten every deed I could get in store. Which one allows my to get 25 boosters? My limit is currently 15.

In the second attribute screen of the blades (after pressing r once) you can see the stat mod the blade gives. Some of them give a luck mod, that's how you know who gives the highest luck, adding the effect of certain chip+weapon combinations like pentagon+axe

Just beat the game around a week ago and I really enjoyed it. I didn't get all the blades but I got most and after beating the game at level 97 I had about 90% of the blades with 99 core cysts I didn't have the patience to go threw and awaken.

This is not how the system works.... there are unlimited common blades, the system creates a new one when it needs to... If the designers needed to make all the blades individualy... It would be a pain in the ass...

Zenobia was one of my first blades, as well as Akhos being my first NG+ blade. Yet I'm grinding for hours using gold chips and beta scopes for better drops just trying to get KOS-MOS, and Patroka, which ironically I already have all the other tornan blades, yet alone Patroka being on the same rarity as Akhos.

So you DONT need to put 5 boosters on a Core to have the highest chance of getting a blade for that element? It just needs to be one level higher than the rest?

Correct, just need to be one higher, this way you can be efficient with your booster.

ShadowEliteHD The JRPG GAWD Boosters also override which one is highest. If You use 1 Justice booster to make it lvl 5, but Compassion is 7, using the booster will force it to use the Justice modifier instead. The game only counts one of the 4 at a time, depending on which has the highest lvl OR which booster you use

I’m pretty sure I got kosmos and zenobia by complete luck. Out of going through 10 Legendary core crystals and as for the story, I just started tantal and my party are around levels 57-64. Still missing rare blades probably non story, torna DLC or challenge mode related. No spoilers please. I gave kos to nia so she has a light element and Rex already has mythra and corvin and most of the other blades Zenobia is with morag and I’ve been tackling that affinity chart. Nim is with zeke Missing theory (might be side quest related to praxis’s chart), perun, and adenine.

My last 3 blades were zenobia, ursula, and agate. Using this method, in two days I got Zenobia and ursula by keeping their element AND max number of blades -3. I do the -3 thing because names get re-rolled too, I've gotten Kijn, Akatsuki for example literally right after releasing them. Currently working on Agate, so hopefully I'll have news today.

How would you rate the game after finishing the story? And for those that don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in that you are placed before the end boss when you finish the game, so you can go out and farm for items and blades. New Game Plus (NG+) should be coming sometime this year.

For sure a 9.5/10 in my book. I perfer the story in the orginal Xenoblade but this game had quite the solid one. However the gameplay is much better and Monlithsoft improved on alot of things in this game like doing side quest and Xenoblade 2's battle system I think is one of the best (much better than the orginal's) So an update on my rare Blade collection. Yesterday I finally pulled Daliha using your method so now I just need to get KOS-MOS.

I just want to say that this method absolutely works. I was trying to get my last Torna blade (Patroka) in NG+ and had spent 3 days grinding trying to get her. I went through 350 rare crystals and 250 legendaries with no luck at all. The thing I was doing wrong is after each round of burning through my most recent haul of rare/leg crystals I would release all of the crappy common blades that I had resonated with. Unbeknownst to me at the time this was releasing all these crap blades back into the pool. I knew something was weird when I started seeing the same common blade names come up over and over again. So I googled and found this method and I FINALLY got my last blade in about 25min from a rare crystal. Just FYI, you know you're starting to empty the pool of common blades when you start pulling 3/4-crown blades from common core crystals (because common crystals almost always yield only 1/2-crowns). This is essentially informing you that the game is running out of crap commons to give you and your shiny rare blade is on the horizon! As far as I'm concerned this is indisputable proof that there are a FINITE number of common blades of each element type, rather than some procedurally generated infinite number of blades. This also explains why you can get rare blades from common crystals. Thanks so much for making this video!

One of the reasons I got so frustrated with this game. Especially when i just finished XBX and that game was so easy to customize. In XBX I didn't want to use range attacks so I made my character a Melee Attack super beast stronger than even the the strongest skells. Than i came to this game. No easy way to switch blades with characters. Super hard to level up rare blades and i had to look up guides to do anything. RPJ is about strategy and setting up to whay you like. RNG was so annoying and makes it hard to set up anything and sucks the joy out of playing. Ended keep the the first three blades i got, made it unreasonable to switch to different blades. Plus don't get me started how Poppi was lock by a stupid mini game that i couldn't even complete half of a stage in easy mood. The mini game should be a option not a requirements. There should be another way to level up Poppi. It made me have to ignore tora and poppi which was annoying. It look so interesting to mess around with, but nope completely lock to me. Well I off to XB1 in a week, I can't wait for the gameplay that isn't based on RNG.

I also got Kos-Mos WITH NIA while going for Zenobia and using one Truth booster and keeping winds.(I almost missed the cutscene too because I looked away while it was muted and was watching a video I had on in the background. So, to systematize it: 1. Driver must the highest Luck stat possible. Stack accessories and core chips on drive and blades that give/have high Luck. 2. Target desired Blade's element. 3. Boosters. Use no boosters on common cores. 4. When drawing from rare or legendary cores, use character with the highest stat of the desired element pairing, then use booster if needed to bring them above the others. 5. Keep all the common blades from the target element to reduce the pool of potential draws. 6. Be patient. Some thing to help: -Farm cores. Common are easy-ish to come by. Rare and Legendary may need a guide (I recommend Enel's guide to getting Kos-mos). -Merc Guild level. The amount of blades you can keep depends of the max level you have of the Merc Guild. This limit applies to common blades only (need confirmation), and thus the game will not let you draw another blade. Hence why targeting the element of your desired Rare is important. -Be patient. This is a fucking gatcha mechanic. And this is why we hate that damn thing.

Correction on idea boost. It doesn't increase the chance of getting the element from an idea stat. It prioritizes the idea and will randomly choose 1 if 2 elements that the idea stat holds. As long as it's +1 above other ideas, that one will guarantee your choice.

This actualy helps me a lot, I am new to the game and after you explained the elements for the boosters? It made lot of sense for me. Cause I managed to get Ursula early as Chapter 3 with Rex. Then after awhile and going through the Uryaya area with the mercenaries. I got 2 more rae blades from Common cores, a Fire blade for Nia, and then a Dark Blade with Res that wields a gun. Which I got confused of how that happened, but when you said in the video "1 booster higher" it made a lot of sense. Granted though, I don't even have any Dark common blades at all XD and got the Rare Dark blade without having any dark common ones. So this will definitely help me a lot. That and keepign the blade for field specials will come i handy. This video definitely help me out greatly, to understanding how bonding works Especially since I get a lot of common cores too lol.

Does it work if you use common cores to get the commons and then use rares and legendaries once you feel like you have enough? Or do the common blades need to be pulled with the same type of core you use to try to get rare blades?

Both are fine, I kept anything that came from common and rare cores with the same element, you will typically get more blades from the desire element when you use boosters but yes just keep anything, it does not matter since the rare blade can come out from Common, rare and legendary. I got Kos-Mos from common.

Hope we can get to do it again. Monolith Soft is helping Nintendo on the new Zelda game, but it seems they are working on a new Xenoblade game as well as a brand-new IP. Hopefully, they will port Xenoblade Chronicles X to Switch, and then to a sequel to it. Then, would love to see the new IP, and I can wait for a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, since Torna: The Golden Country felt like another full game and not an expansion.

I got my last 3 blades in one day, about 15 legendary cores and 40 rare cores (2 blades popped out of rares) whereas I was releasing blades before without worrying about elements and got nothing in about 60 legendaries and 100+ rares. Method is legit. I'd keep the max number of blades -3 though, I don't believe names duplicated so that's like a secondary way to limit the pool and raise your chances

Do the blade pools really work with a fixed set like that? Good vid though. Seems logical--all the stuff you mentioned. I didn't notice the stuff about elements --i just carpet bombed 5 always. But I'll use this now to pull the 3-4 rares that I'm missing

Yes, there are even people out there that their first blade was Kos-Mos, its all about luck and Zenobia is one of the strongest blade in the game, so you were lucky my friend - Dantes

I played 143 hours and still in chapter 9, when I wake up I tell myself "today is the day to finish the game" but i can't, i'm want to complete all my rare blades and have all of them (only 3 more😣😣😭😭) when i finish that I will finish the actual game... I tried man, I got all my blade affinity charts done, all blade side quests done, all the normal side quests, treasures, unique monsters and I even finished the DLC side quests before finishing the game. I tried to get my last three blades which are Kos-mos, Zenobia and Vale but no luck on my end after 250 hours of gameplay. At this point I got tired of trying to unlock 'em, so I went ahead and finished the game. I already beat all of the super bosses as well! I have nothing else to do than to try and unlock the last three. I might take a break and start playing other games.

I have a bit of lucky with kosmos (my first rare blade with Zeke) and zenobia appear with morag, if that info help but what I do when i'm bonding blade it's watch a concert o KZbin at the same time😅😅 so the time pof just fly (again sorry for my english😅😅)

Since Vale is a dark blade and Kos-Mos is light I've been using Zeke to get both using Justice boosters but I have been using 5 each time! I also have been releasing all the dark ones... sigh man I wish I would've found this video beforehand! Maybe once I finish the current game I'm playing and taken a nice break from XBC2 Ill come back and unlock 'em. I've been playing this game none stop since Dec 1!!

Thanks for tips and advice, but a little curious, on your 'hardest' blade to get, how many of that element did you end up stocking up on before the rare appeared? I'm going for kos mos now (last rng blade) and am currently sitting on 75 common dark type blades. In your findings, did you go more than a stockpile of 75 very much? Thanks again for the video :)

Good question, I store around 50 but its about luck with the RGN gods, 75 should be a good number to store, my recommendation if you can store more do it, if not keep opening cores with 75 blades store, just remember to use those booster on your legendary or rare cores. My method only increases the odds and that's all you can do in this game.

Yes, having the merc level at 5 helps this method, by chapter 7 I already was on level 5, but dont give up, this method has helped alot of people base on the comments

I'm trying to get Newt, Azami, Floren, Vale, Boreas and KosMos for the merc missions they're assigned to. I'm on Chapter 5, My merc level is 4 as stated and my latest Rare blade is Dahlia. Got her from a Legendary Core which I used Bravery boosters on. Ironic that I wanted a Newt, instead I get Dahlia. For my team, Rex has 13 rare blades, Nia has 6 and Morag has... None. Once I have the blades I wanna distribute them to the team members who best fit. For instance, I wanna have Newt go to Morag cause they're both militaristics. Plus Newt looks freaking cool.

Good strategy, I was lucky that my blades resonate with the right drivers, for example I got Perceval on Morag which is perfect and I got Kos-Mos with Zeke which is perfect. Newt looks cool but she is a attacker and fire type, don't know if Morag would be the best place for her since you already have Brighid with Morag and she is already fire, plus Brighid has 15% agility mod with her and you want to give as much Agility to Morag, she is a beast as an Agility tank.

I heard in one vid that there's categories you'll get put into for which blade will be the most difficult to obtain. I believe it because I've gotten xenobia and kos-mos, yet can't pull ursula, newt or perceval. Thanks for explaining the boosters though. I can't believe I've played this long and it didn't click that the swirling elements around the crystal when your about to use a booster mean that's the element you're going for.

Thank you very much! It actually works!!! I got my last 3 using this method. Agate zenobia kos mos. With less than 100 core crystals in one night only kept the dark elements then eventually they appeared one by one kos mos last using zeke with out boosters. I can sleep now.
