The whole cloud crossdressing quest was like a 5 minute gag in the original game. The Remake made it into a whole ass Bollywood musical. I love these games so much 😂

I really thought they were going to chicken out and write this out of the plot, I'm so glad they doubled and tripled down on it instead. Andrea's little speech at the end is really wholesome.

Especially considering how borderline-problematic the Honeybee Inn was in the original. They really stuck the landing with this part of the remake, and not just because all of Chapter 9 feels like Squenix trying their hand at making a Yakuza game.

The payoff of the whole dance sequence after telling Barret he "doesn't dance" is so amazing! 😂 That whole sequence was one of my favorite, most memorable moments from all of Remake as a person who grew up with the OG. They really gave the whole Corneo/infiltration plotline such a glow-up, literally and figuratively. Its incredible. PS, been loving the playthrough!

Awesome to see you continuing this incredible game! The dance is just the best. All jokes aside the music during it is actually awesome imo lol. One of the best things to see while this game had come out was that Brianna White (voice actress of Aerith) has her own gaming youtube channel and twitch channel "Strange rebel gaming" and went through the entire game. She is A true gem haha. She would sometimes do her Aerith voice lines during the streams too it was amazing haha. (Be careful of spoilers though as she is currently going through Rebirth (Remake part 2) as well). Seeing you play this just makes me want to platnuim it haha.

The music was so good! I’d listen to those songs on a daily basis. Also so cool that she’s playing through the game she acted in!!! I’ll definitely check her out once I’m done my playthrough.

28:43 Aerial attacks refers to Cloud and Tifa's mid-air combos when you try to hit airborne or out of reach enemies (in Cloud's case, it only happens if you're not in Punisher Mode.) It's a pretty bad upgrade imo, it doesn't come up often and when it does you're usually doing it to build ATB for a spell. 1:06:01 Luck is mostly only relevant to stealing items. It also affects crit rate, though not by a lot (it takes 5 points to make the crit rate go up by 1% point, and crits in this game only do 20% more damage, not anything crazy like double damage.) Most materia are good but you can pretty much ignore that one. Also the game doesn't really explain the Synergy materia very well. If you put Ice + Synergy on Aerith (for example) whenever you're controlling someone else and use an ability or a spell on an enemy (e.g. Braver), Aerith will automatically cast the lowest level Blizzard spell for just 1 MP and without using any ATB. If she's standing inside Arcane Ward (which the AI usually does if it's close enough to the enemy), she'll even do it twice.

I was dying laughing when I saw the dance scenes and the crossdressing part. They really nailed it! In the OG game it's just like "Cloud wears a dress to sneak past the dumdums at the front door of Corneo's place" and there wasn't really anything extra so I'm so glad they decided to flesh it out and do what they did with it. Absolutely loved it! Glad you're enjoying your playthrough.

You earned Aerith's pretty red dress by doing all the sidequests for her earlier! :) Both Tifa, Aerith and Cloud have three different dresses (worth checking out imo, especially Aerith's since the scenes change for her.) You also got my favourite Cloud dress! Actually, you got my favourite dresses for all three characters haha

There's actually no way to lose the main dance. The only thing it influences is how positively Aerith reacts to Cloud at the end of the three segments. The dress itself is influenced by how many and which side quests you do in Wall Market.

The Honeybee Inn part is very different from the original, since there's no way they could have done it like it was with today's sensibilities. In the original HB Inn is just a brothel, and only a small part of Cloud's dressing up. You run around Wall Market and get parts of your outfit from different people. In HB Inn you get your underwear (different pair depending on your actions), and one of the girls can do your makeup. With that said, I think they did it well in Remake, and I have only a couple small gripes with it. Firstly, it's a little strange to have a big cabaret club like this in the slums. A brothel feels more believable. Secondly, would Cloud really be so willing to dance his heart out like this? Does his personality we seen this far really suggest he is?

Hmm good question, I don’t think he seemed like he enjoyed any part of that dance but I think to help Tifa he’d suck it up. Definitely had to suspend belief a bit there, but I enjoy a bit of fan service in my media so I’ll accept it lol
